Amazing!

Dear Avid readers My friend and I as two middle aged doctors booked the afternoon boutique wine tour as a birthday treat for my friend. I can safely say we were blessed to have Susana as our tour guide making our trip smooth and sensational, as well as highly informative. Needless to say though most importantly she made sure my friend had a magical birthday, and made me the lord of the rings fan, finish with a big smile on my face! As an added bonus, ending the trip by a fireplace with cheese platter and ginger the gorgeous dog as warm companion while we sipped our last wines of the day was superb. Thankyou again Susana. Best Wishes Shahab

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for this wonderful review! Cheers

A very enjoyable afternoon out

This was a really enjoyable tour. Susanna was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who's own interest in wine shone through. The wineries selected were diverse, unique, and were not crowded. We had time and space to enjoy each in comfort and without pressure which was lovely. An unexpected highlight was hanging out with Ginger (the winery dog).

Response from the operator: Thanks for this awesome review! I am glad to hear you had such a fantastic experience. Cheers

Fantastic afternoon at Queenstown Wineries.

Susana was a fantastic tour guide and my partner and I loved our private wine tour through Queenstown. We felt we had plenty of time, loved the selection of wineries and the insights Susana offered. We had individual hosts leading our tasting at each of the wineries so felt like such an intimate experience. Being the off season we had some of the wineries to ourself which we loved and there were no crowds. Fantastic value for money and perfect for a smaller group wanting an intimate experience. We can't wait to be back!

Response from the operator: Thanks for this fantastic review! Cheers,

Response from the operator: Thanks for this excellent review and for recommending us! Cheers,

Avoid

Booked this tour months in advance and was absolutely horrified that it was cancelled 24 hours prior to the tour. What made it worse was the lack of communication - no email explaining why, no apology, no nothing. My advice is go elsewhere and pick a reputable company that tries not to ruin holidays of a lifetime. Reprehensible behaviour from this company.

Response from the operator: We’re very sorry to hear how disappointed you were with the cancellation and the impact it had on your plans. We did send out communication regarding the cancellation; however, as your booking was made through a third-party provider, it’s possible this was not received directly. The reason for the cancellation—low participant numbers making the tour financially unviable—was also communicated via that platform. We’d also like to clarify that the tour was not cancelled just hours before departure, and we made efforts to provide as much notice as possible once it became clear the minimum numbers wouldn’t be met. That said, we completely understand how frustrating this situation is, especially when you’ve booked well in advance, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. As our other reviews reflect, we take great pride in delivering high-quality experiences and excellent service. Situations like this are rare and never taken lightly, and we do our best to communicate and manage them as fairly as possible. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry we couldn’t deliver the experience you were looking forward to on this occasion.

Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Queenstown.

How much does Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $275 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Queenstown usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Queenstown is not rushed.

Is Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 74 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Queenstown, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour?

+

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Queenstown can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Queenstown and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Afternoon Boutique Wine Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Queenstown within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Queenstown?

+

On Outty we rank every Queenstown experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Milford Sound Small Group Tour & Cruise from Queenstown, Milford Sound Premium Small Group Tour & Cruise from Queenstown, Award Winning Premium Wine Tour Queenstown Tasting at 4 Wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Queenstown?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Queenstown?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
