John!!!!
John told stories and made us feel as if we were there! He was upbeat and kept the pace comfortable. We had to change our reservation last minute and they were very understanding and kind about it.

Knowledgeable Guide, With a Very Poor Welcome
I have mixed feelings about this tour, and if you’re considering booking it, I’d recommend reading this first. We had John as our tour guide. We arrived at the meeting point around 30 minutes before the start, as it asked us to, but honestly, 15 minutes would have been more than enough - there was quite a lot of standing around. My main gripe, however, happened before the tour had even started and almost made my girlfriend and I, plus another group, walk away. When we arrived, two tour guides were checking everyone in. Viator had sent me a confirmation document to add to Apple Wallet, which clearly had my booking details. Upon checking in, I smiled and greeted my guide, who I now know was John, and showed him this booking confirmation, and his response was extremely rude: “You don’t need to show me that. How am I meant to read that?” He didn't even greet me, he just went on to ask for my first and last name. I gave them to him and started spelling my surname, at which point he cut me off with: “Hey, hey. You don’t need to spell anything to me, and you certainly don’t need to have that (looking at my confirmation doc/phone).” Honestly, I was beyond shocked. This was all said in front of my girlfriend and the rest of the group. He then made a comment about how the previous person had done the same thing. I went over to where the group was gathering, and another person who had experienced exactly the same interaction spoke to me. We both agreed that it was an incredibly rude and arrogant, and discussed leaving. To be fair to John, he is clearly knowledgeable and good at what he does. He speaks quickly, but regularly stops to take questions, and at each block he makes sure the whole group is together. His stories are interesting and well told. Interestingly, few questions were asked to John, take that of what you will. First impressions matter. From the very beginning, he had already managed to upset at least two groups in his tour - roughly a third of the people he was responsible for that evening.

Proceed With Caution :)
JJ was an amazing tour guide! Great storyteller and he was very aware of the rain situation and tried to keep us dry as much as possible but although the rain may have seemed to be a nuisance, it really added to the overall experience!! So unless it's some sort of crazy hurricane/thunderstorm situation don't hesitate going on the tour on account of a little rain! It's important to set your expectations for the tour. This is almost like a historical walk that tells tales of the more macabre history of the city. The group you are with will also either add to the vibe or put a damper on it. I think some people expect a ghost hunter tour but this isn't that. LOL The only part I would re-do would be to opt for a small group sized tour if available. We had about 20 people in our group and at times it was difficult to hear the guide. Ideally a group of 10 would have been perfect. Recommended if you are a history buff and want to learn/hear about the grimmier (lol) side of history while in NOLA and have a free night to do this.

Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Orleans.
How much does Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $37 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Orleans usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Orleans is not rushed.
Is Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 7,158 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in New Orleans, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour?
+
Around 2,505 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Orleans can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Orleans and add a light layer if any part of the 1.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Adults-Only New Orleans Ghost, Crime, Voodoo, and Vampire Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Orleans within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Orleans?
+
New Orleans runs on licensed guides, and it shows: the city requires certification for tour guides, so the floor is higher here than most US cities. Ghost and cemetery walks, French Quarter food crawls, plantation history day trips and swamp boat runs make up the bulk. We rank on whether the operator handles cemetery access properly, since St. Louis No. 1 needs an authorised guide. On Outty we rank every New Orleans experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour with Transportation, New Orleans Adults-Only True Crime and Ghost Walking Tour, New Orleans Garden District History Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Orleans?
+
February to May and October to November. August is heat and storm season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Orleans?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
