A truly wonderful day! An unforgettable safari and cruise experience.

My mother and I joined this tour during our cruise stop, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our entire trip! Anthony was the most amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly guide. Since my mother only speaks Japanese and I am not confident in my English, we were a little worried at first, but Anthony was incredibly kind and even prepared translation apps to communicate with us. Thanks to his thoughtful care, we felt so comfortable and safe throughout the day. We saw so many incredible animals up close in Addo, and the sunset cruise was breathtakingly beautiful. Climbing up the sand dunes with bare feet to watch the stunning sunset was a truly magical experience! When we returned to the boat, they had even prepared a foot bath and towels for us to clean our feet. We were deeply moved by such thoughtful and high-quality hospitality. After the tour, Anthony even shared a guest gallery with beautiful photos he took for us, which was such a wonderful surprise! I highly recommend Alan Tours to anyone visiting South Africa. Thank you, Anthony, for making our day so special and unforgettable!

Response from the operator: Hi Yuki, Thank you so much for this amazing review! Myself and the Alan Tours Team really appreciate it! We are so happy to hear that your tour with us was such a highlight and that we put all your worries at ease . Yes, we had some amazing sightings in Addo with many up close. The sunsetcruise and walk up the dunes is truly a special experience. It was really great having you and your mom on tour, it was greta fun! Your kind words really do mean a lot to me and I appreciate it! I will have you both on tour with me in a heartbeat. I hope the rest of your trip was amazing! Kind regards Anthony

Such a lovely day out!

Me and my friends went on this tour and had the most amazing experience. Graeham was a lovely guide and was super knowledgeable on all the animals and very easy to talk to, always making sure we were having a great time and friendly. The animals were amazing, and as we were all Elephant lovers it was perfect, a once in a lifetime experience to have so many so close to you. The sunset cruise was beautiful, and the views from the top of the sand dunes were out of this world, and so worth it! Thank you so much!

Great 2 safari excursions

We had already booked this safari with alantours 4 years ago and paid a deposit. Unfortunately, the trip was cancelled due to covid. We have now made up for this and asked Alantours again and booked it. 2 tours Addo Elephant National Park and Schotia National Park. Then a great surprise from Alantours. We were credited with our full deposit after 4 years. Great cinema. Thank you Alantours ( Angelika). I really wanted to mention that. With regard to the two tours I can only say that they were 2 great unforgettable days with unforgettable impressions. Almost all the animals have seen. Elephants, lions, giraffes, rhinos, hippo, impalas, warthogs , water buffalo and some more. Tours were super organized (by Pick up to return). Are 1 x With Landcruiser (with 7 people) and 1 x with open Safari vehicle ( 7 people) and all had a window seat . Was ideal for great pictures. Thank you Angelika. Conclusion: I can recommend Alantours with conviction Daniela and August

Great tour, wonderful experiences and always with Alan Tours!!!

We booked a German-speaking group tour and were lucky enough to enjoy a private tour with boss Angelika and guide Graeme. Everything was perfectly organized, the tour was super individual and totally relaxed. We were able to see lots of great animals and take wonderful photos. A relaxed coffee break and a good lunch were included. The sunset tour that followed was also very relaxed and a perfect end. We received lots of valuable information on the tour and all of our questions were answered competently. We can recommend Alan-Tours without reservation and would book with them again at any time. THANK YOU for the great time.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Angelika and Graeme from ALANTours

We, two women, spent unforgettable days with ALANTOURS in February in ADDO Park, in the sand dunes and in Port Elizabeth. We had booked our transfers and safaris in advance with the incredibly helpful Angelika and what can I say? IT WAS SIMPLY INCREDIBLE!! and I still don't have the words to describe how indescribably beautiful our vacation was. Our guide Graeme is a complete professional and we were able to experience fantastic animal sightings that still give me goosebumps today. I can recommend ALANTOURS to everyone with the best of conscience!! Just look at the pictures on the ALANTours website! They say it all.

Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Port Elizabeth.

How much does Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04 cost?

+

Prices start at $3250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Port Elizabeth usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04 take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Port Elizabeth is not rushed.

Is Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04 worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Port Elizabeth, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04 suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 13. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Port Elizabeth can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Port Elizabeth and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Addo Elephant National Park and Sunset River Cruise - FD04 start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Port Elizabeth within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Port Elizabeth?

+

On Outty we rank every Port Elizabeth experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale, Dolphin & Penguin Island Cruise, Addo Elephant Full Day Safari with a Traditional South African Braai (BBQ) Lunch, Addo Elephant National Park All Inclusive Full-Day Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Port Elizabeth?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Port Elizabeth?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
