Amazing way to see Addis!!
The experience was absolutely amazing! Elias and Seife guided us very safely round the main sights of Addis Ababa and we had a great afternoon. Elias was so knowledgable about all aspects of Ethiopian geography, history and culture and it was so valuable learning from him first hand about his city and country. Would recommend this experience to everyone! Also brilliant how flexible it is - we said we were hungry so Seife and Elias took us straight for lunch and then coffee before we did the sightseeing.

Great day in Addis Abeba and Surroundings
I only spent a day in Addis Abeba and this was absolutely the best way to see something of the city and his surroundings. It was a great experience from the start till the end. We've visited Entoto Mountain where we spotted Hyenas in their natural habitat. Afterwards we headed back to the suburbs where I was able to make my own local bread and had some time for a chat with Teddy, the guide and our driver. We've closed the day with a Coffee ceremony, which was a nice experience too, with Coffee, music and singing. Thanks a lot for the day full of experiences and emotions.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a memorable day exploring Addis Ababa and its surroundings. It was a pleasure for Teddy and our team to share these experiences with you, from seeing the hyenas in their natural habitat on Entoto Mountain to making local bread and finishing the day with a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, music, and singing.

You must book with them!
An amazing experience in Addis Ababa! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This tour was absolutely beyond our expectations! Alemu is a true gentleman — kind, professional and incredibly attentive to what we wanted to see and experience. He managed our time perfectly, took us to places we could never have imagined finding on our own, and explained everything with fascinating historical, cultural and religious context. Having a knowledgeable local guide made a huge difference, especially in some areas where we might not have felt completely comfortable exploring on our own. We always felt well taken care of and could simply enjoy the experience. Addis Ababa surprised us in the best possible way, and the tour gave us a much deeper understanding of Ethiopia, its culture, history and people. We were truly amazed! We highly recommend Alemu to anyone visiting Addis Ababa. If you want to experience the city beyond the usual tourist spots and learn about Ethiopia from someone who genuinely loves sharing his country, this is definitely the guide to choose! Thank you, Alemu, for an unforgettable experience!

Fabulous exploration of the best of Addis!
We had a fabulous day with our guide Desale whom we booked through LimaLimo. Starting with a drive up to Entoto Park for a panoramic view of the city and a history lesson, Desale led us through an exploration of the city’s highlights - the Holy Trinity Church, the Merkato, a fabulous coffee ceremony in an authentic coffee house, and a lunch at Yod Abyssinia where he gave us a lesson on traditional Italian cuisine. We wrapped up at the National Museum where our guide led an in-depth visit of the Lucy exhibits and the other important finds displayed there. He was so informative that other guests were listening in too! This is a perfect introduction to the history, culture and cuisine of Addis Ababa!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a fabulous day exploring Addis Ababa with Desale. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the panoramic views from Entoto, Holy Trinity Church, the vibrant Merkato, the authentic coffee ceremony, Yod Abyssinia, and your visit to the National Museum. We especially appreciate your kind words about Desale’s knowledge and storytelling. Knowing that his explanations were engaging enough to attract the attention of other visitors is a fantastic compliment! 😊 We’re very happy that our tour gave you a memorable introduction to the history, culture, and cuisine of Addis Ababa.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Addis Ababa.
How much does Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony cost?

How long does Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Addis Ababa is not rushed.
Is Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Addis Ababa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Addis Ababa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Addis Ababa and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Addis Ababa City Tour with Local Guide and Coffee Ceremony start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Addis Ababa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Addis Ababa?
+
On Outty we rank every Addis Ababa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Addis Ababa Authentic Private City Tour, Addis Ababa Guided City Tour With Airport & Hotel Pick Up, Full Day Tour of Addis Ababa with Hotel Pickup and Drop-off. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Addis Ababa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Addis Ababa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
