About this experience
This is the perfect tour for all those customers who wish to visit the Accademia Gallery in total freedom and at their own pace, guided by an audio commentary of expert art historians, recorded in their own language. Total immersion in the art of Michelangelo to know his most renowned work, the “David”, and other important works of art such as ''I Prigioni'' and ''San Matteo'' and the “Palestrina Pietà”. The young Michelangelo carved the David from a huge block of rough marble in three years, creating an imposing sculpture of absolute beauty, an icon of the renaissance model. He depicted a magnificent nude young man at the height of his physical vigor, whose intense expression of strength and courage, which originated from an absolute faith in God, roses as a symbol of power and invincibility of the Florentine Republic at the time of its maximum splendor.

Go early... it can be...
Go early... it can be very crowded but it is well worth the experience, no matter the crowds. The art leaves you with "goose bumps." I would also recommend that you purchase headphones or use a guide. Headphones served us well because it was easier to maneuver through the crowds.

The real David
Very awesome display of history. The only reason I give it 4 stars is there was way too much musical history.
Response from the operator: Good morning from Caf Tour & Travel, Dear Dominique, Thank you for taking the time to share your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the visit to the Accademia Gallery. Regarding the musical content, we would like to note that music is an integral part of Florence’s—and Italy’s—cultural and historical heritage. From the Renaissance to modern times, music has shaped art, society, and daily life. We hope that, despite the abundance of musical history, you were able to appreciate how it connects to the broader story of Florence and its artistic legacy. Thank you again for your visit and your feedback! Kind regards

Audio does not follow
The audio could have been better. It would have been helpful if it instructed you a route to take so it would follow the layout of museum or had each number correspond to a number room. (I could not figure out what room I was in)
Response from the operator: Good morning from Caf Tour & Travel, Dear Kathy, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the audio-guided visit did not meet your expectations. Most of our customers usually find it helpful and informative. We would like to clarify that the audio guides we offer are the official ones provided by the museum itself, and their content and functionality are managed directly by the museum. We appreciate your comments and will be sure to pass them along. Kind regards

No tour guide
I didn’t realize there was no tour guide for this tour. You met the “tour guide” and they gave you your tickets and that was it. Much cheaper to buy ticket and audio guide separately.
Response from the operator: Good morning from Caf Tour & Travel, Dear Anita, Thank you for your feedback. We regret for any confusion regarding your experience. As outlined in the tour description, this experience includes entry to the Accademia Gallery, the use of an audio guide, and assistance from one of our team members at the meeting point. There is no traditional tour guide, as the experience is designed for those who prefer to explore with the audio guide at their own pace. All of these details are clearly stated on the product page of the tour on Viator. We hope this clarifies things, and we appreciate your understanding. Best regards

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.
How much does Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $53 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.
Is Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Accademia Gallery: Discover David with the Official Audio Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Florence?
+
On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Florence?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Florence?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
