Amazing service and reasonable price ever!

"Our Southern Omo Valley tour with Golan Tours Ethiopia was an incredible journey into one of the most culturally rich and visually stunning regions of Ethiopia. From the moment we were picked up, everything was flawlessly organized — comfortable transport, knowledgeable guides, and well-planned accommodations. We visited several indigenous tribes including the Hamar, Mursi, and Karo, each offering a unique and authentic experience that was both respectful and insightful. The team at Golan Tours made sure we had meaningful interactions while being mindful of local customs. The scenery was just as impressive — sweeping savannahs, river valleys, and vibrant weekly markets. This tour was not just a trip, but a powerful cultural immersion that we’ll never forget. We highly recommend Golan Tours Ethiopia to anyone seeking an authentic adventure in the Omo Valley."

Unforgettable 8-Day Southern Omo Valley Tour with Golan Tours Ethiopia!

We are a group of travelers from Dubai, UAE, and we just returned from an 8-day tour of the Southern Omo Valley with Golan Tours Ethiopia — and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! From the first moment we landed in Addis Ababa, everything was perfectly arranged. The tour was well-planned, professional, and full of cultural discoveries that we will remember for a lifetime. Every day of the journey was unique, taking us through breathtaking landscapes and into the heart of Ethiopia’s most fascinating tribal cultures. A huge thank you to Mr. Bete Mengistu, the General Manager of Golan Tours Ethiopia. His attention to detail, professionalism, and personal care made the whole experience smooth and worry-free. He stayed in touch throughout the trip to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We traveled in a new, air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle — clean, spacious, and very comfortable, which was especially important for the long drives through the region. Our guide was outstanding — very knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. He shared so much about the history, culture, and traditions of the tribes we visited, including the Hamar, Mursi, Karo, and Konso people. The hotels and lodges were excellent — clean, well-located, and offered great food and service. We were truly impressed with the standard of accommodation in such remote areas. What also stood out was the very reasonable price for the level of service we received. Golan Tours really delivers great value without compromising on quality or comfort. If you are planning to explore Ethiopia and want an authentic, well-organized, and unforgettable journey — we highly recommend Golan Tours Ethiopia. Thank you again to Mr. Bete Mengistu and the whole team for making this such a special experience for our group from Dubai.

8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Addis Ababa.

How much does 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $3,800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Addis Ababa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Addis Ababa is not rushed.

Is 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Addis Ababa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Addis Ababa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Addis Ababa and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 8 Days Southern Ethiopia Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Addis Ababa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Addis Ababa?

    +

On Outty we rank every Addis Ababa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Addis Ababa Authentic Private City Tour, Addis Ababa Guided City Tour With Airport & Hotel Pick Up, Full Day Tour of Addis Ababa with Hotel Pickup and Drop-off. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Addis Ababa?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Addis Ababa?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
