Thank you Derrick and HometoAfrica
Derrick was a top notch professional guide. His english was better than mine... He got us everywhere we needed to be timely, found the wildlife, and went above and beyond. I have been on many guided trips, but this experience was above anything I have done before. He found the best rolexes and food spots. The company did an excellent job adjusting my trip due to some travel delays. They were accommodating and had me situated in good facilities with great food. I recommend anyone book with HometoAfrica, and get Derrick if you can.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that Derrick made such a lasting impression and helped create an exceptional experience for you. Your recommendation means a great deal to us, and we truly appreciate you choosing Home to Africa!

Huge recomendation
Thank you for the unforgetabble experience, especially to Danny! We had amazing experiences during the game drives since our guide Danny had exceptional knowledge and intuition. When we had questions regarding the wildlife, history of Uganda, the culture and costums he had plenty of differentiated, insightfull answers at hand. He tried to incorporate expressed wishes of the group and was flexible to adapt the program in a way, that our experience was perfect! Thank you for 8 wonderfull days Danny!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re delighted you had such an unforgettable experience . Danny will be very happy to hear your appreciation, he always strives to make every trip special and meaningful. Wishing you all the best, and we hope to welcome you again someday!

Great trip through Uganda with an excpetional guide
We’ve enjoyed an 8-day Safari trip with Home to Africa and Danny as our guide. We were a group of four, we as parents visiting our two daughters working in hospitals in Uganda. Danny was an excellent guide, with broad knowledge of the country, its people and culture, animals and plants. Danny has made every effort to show us the most interesting places and to guide us to the most spectacular moments with the great mammals and other animals of Uganda. He is extremely experienced and familiar with the national parks. He knows exactly where and when to go to experience unforgettable moments, e.g. with lions sharing a buffalo, a leopard on the hunt, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, and others. While nature is nature and unpredictable, we felt that we experienced everything possible. We had the right mixture of good conversations with Danny about the country, its history and culture, an insight in daily life on the ways between the national parks. Perfect game drives in the parks, captivating community walks, and incredibly beautiful lodges. We felt 100% safe and comfortable at all times. Furthermore, we would at any time recommend Danny as a guide. Eight days on the road together were just too short. Thomas & Family, Germany
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Thomas and family, for your kind words. It was truly a pleasure traveling with you and sharing the beauty of Uganda together. I am glad you enjoyed the wildlife, the experiences, and our conversations along the way. Danny your guide also sends his warm regards and is happy to have been part of your memorable trip. Wishing you all the best, and you’re always welcome back for another adventure!

The most incredible time in our Ugandan safari
We all had the most incredible time on our Ugandan safari, it was absolutely amazing to have so many up-close experiences with such a diverse range of animals. We loved every moment of the trip and are so grateful to Rolland who was a brilliant, fun and kind guide. The gorilla and chimp trekking were amazing experiences and we also saw lions, hippos, giraffes, baboons, hyenas, elephants, rhinos and so many other animals. Thank you Home to Africa!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled you had such an incredible safari and unforgettable wildlife encounters. Rolland will be delighted to hear your kind words. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure with Home to Africa!

Great Company and Even Greater Guides
Home to Africa and Danny our tour guide made the trip so easy and seamless. The communication from the start was always quick and seemed instantaneous even though there was a big time difference with Australia. We did a "budget" 9 day tour of Uganda and it was one of the best experiences. This was not budget and exceeded all expectations. The accommodations that were provided were spacious, the food was plentiful and the staff at all the accomodations were friendly. Shows that Home to Africa has great relationships with the accomodations and their expertise. Our tour guide Danny was one of the highlights of the trip. He knew all the best tips and tricks, basically the first people into the national parks in the morning, maximising the chance of seeing the rarer wildlife. Danny had great stories and kept us entertained on the longer drives between different areas of Uganda. He also knew every tour guide that he passed which then helped us see more wildlife outside the scheduled itinerary. Danny also provided great advice on timing and locations that only an experienced guide would know. He let us have freedom to do whatever but would gently guide us if he knew something better was coming up. I would suggest requesting Danny to anyone. I highly recommend Home to Africa and especially Danny. These guys know what they are doing.
Response from the operator: It’s wonderful to hear how smoothly your trip unfolded and how easy the planning felt, even with the time difference. We’re glad the 9-day “budget” tour offered far more than expected—comfortable stays, plenty of good food, and welcoming staff are exactly the experience we aim to deliver. Danny will be delighted to know he made such an impact on your journey. His passion, local knowledge, and talent for spotting wildlife truly shine through, and it’s great to hear that his guidance and stories added so much to your adventure. We’re grateful for your kind words and your recommendation. It means a lot to our team. Whenever you’re ready for another Ugandan experience, we’d be excited to host you again.

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kampala.
How much does 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking cost?
+
Prices start at $3122 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kampala usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kampala is not rushed.
Is 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 82 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Kampala, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 15. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 192-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking?
+
Around 29 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kampala can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kampala and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 8-Day Uganda Vacation Including Chimps and Gorilla Trekking start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kampala within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kampala?
+
On Outty we rank every Kampala experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kampala Heart of Walking Adventure, Half day Kampala City Motor Bike Tours, Full Day Whitewater Rafting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kampala?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kampala?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
