We feel totally cheated
We are a family of 5 and we hired the 7km huskies toboggan tour. On the same day of the excursion we are informed by whatsapp that the excursion cannot be carried out due to lack of snow (surely they knew the impossibility of doing it much earlier since the snow does not disappear in 1 day) but they continue to offer and / or maintain it. Instead we are offered to do something similar but with a 1 km ride on wheels and we would be refunded the difference. As we had it planned and it was our first day there and when we warned on the same day we had no alternative and we trusted them... Serious mistake. We were taken to Husky Park which is in Santa Klaus Village which is the most touristic site, and 5-10 minutes from our hotel. Admission to this site is worth 15 euros per adult and if you turn around by car they are 30 euros more (NOT WORTH IT ARE 3-5 MINUTES) instead they charged us 200 euros p/w for the excursion. We even had to pay extra out of pocket to be able to really be with the dogs and feed them for a while because all the other dogs are behind bars, it was quite a disappointment. I thought that at least after this disappointment the refund would go between what was offered and what was actually offered but after claiming it up to 4 times we are refunded only 50 euros p/p 2 weeks later. Be careful and don't sin on naive people like us.

deception and rip-off
I have never written a negative review in my life, as I usually try to resolve issues directly with the provider and have always been able to find a solution. However, in this case, I see no other option, as my family and I were extremely disappointed and ended up losing a significant amount of money. We originally booked a 7 km husky sled tour (approximately 4 hours in total) through WonderLappland for around €700 for three people. Shortly after booking, we were informed that due to a lack of snow, the original tour could not take place. Instead, we were offered an alternative: a 1 km ride with a wheeled cart and a refund of €50 per person. Unfortunately, crucial information was not communicated to us: - It was not mentioned that the duration of the activity would be reduced from approximately 4 hours to less than 1 hour. - It was not disclosed that the activity would take place at the public Husky Park in Santa Claus Village. - There was no transparency about how significantly the overall experience and value would be reduced, nor that the alternative would not be adjusted appropriately in terms of pricing. On site, we realized that the entire “alternative” consisted only of a 1 km ride, a small drink, and a single cookie. There were no additional services included. What makes this even more disappointing is that the prices at the Husky Park are clearly displayed: approximately €15 for entry and €60 for the 1 km ride, totaling around €75 per person. Despite the partial refund, we still paid about €183 per person. Had we been given this information in advance, we would never have accepted the alternative and would have booked the activity independently on site. Afterwards, we attempted to find a fair solution with the provider, but all communication was abruptly cut off and no compromise was offered. Our conclusion: a clear lack of transparency and a price-performance ratio that is in no way justified. We strongly recommend that others book such activities directly on site rather than through WonderLappland to avoid unnecessary extra costs. We feel completely overcharged, especially since we later found the exact same alternative activity online with another provider for €110 per person — still more expensive than booking on site, but far more reasonable than what we ultimately paid.

It was a great...
It was a great experience! The ride was long enough for both riders to take turns riding the sled and also managed to snap pictures with the huskies. Extra layers were also provided by the host.

Speak as you find. These guys pulled it out of the bag for us. Our original conpany for this, pulled out last minute and left us high and dry. Wonderlapland worked hard to find us a slot on the day and it became the best family exoerience of our lives!! Amazing from beginning to end!!

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi cost?
+
Prices start at $290 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 7km Self Driven Husky Sled Adventure in Rovaniemi start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
