The Shira Route is one of the less-trodden routes on Mt. Kilimanjaro that starts close Shira Ridge. It begins the western side of the mountain and is practically indistinguishable to the Lemosho Route. In spite of the fact that Shira is considered a beautiful and shifted route, because of the higher rise of the beginning stage, it is conceivable climbers could encounter side effects of elevation disorder as ahead of schedule as the primary day.

Perfect Kilimanjaro and Tanzania Safari Combination
We decided to combine a Mount Kilimanjaro trek with a Tanzania safari, and choosing Kilisa Tours & Safaris to organize both parts of the trip was one of the best decisions we made. The Kilimanjaro trek was challenging but extremely well organized, and our mountain guide did an excellent job of monitoring our pace, helping us with acclimatization and keeping us motivated throughout the climb. After completing the mountain, we continued with a safari and were able to experience a completely different side of Tanzania. Visiting the Serengeti and seeing wildlife in its natural environment was incredible, and our safari guide added so much value through his knowledge of animals, landscapes and local culture. The transition from the mountain to the safari was handled smoothly by the Kilisa team, and we never had to worry about transportation or arrangements. We especially appreciated having one local Tanzanian company coordinating the entire experience because it made everything much easier. Kilisa provided excellent communication, professional guides and genuine local expertise from beginning to end. For anyone considering a Kilimanjaro climb followed by a Tanzania safari, we would strongly recommend Kilisa Tours & Safaris.
