A fantastic journey all around Iceland

I went on this holiday with my wife for our honeymoon, and we both had an amazing time. We got to see such a wide variety of what Iceland has to show, from geysers to waterfalls and lava fields, but did not feel rushed at all as we went from place to place. Our tour guide Heimir was incredibly knowledgeable and was in a great mood throughout the trip, being very memorable himself. Iceland is a very expensive place to stay due to dining costs, so this is something to consider before coming, but I definitely feel that we got our moneys worth from this tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Iceland without being stuck in just one place.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland. We are truly happy to hear that your honeymoon in Iceland was such a memorable experience and that you enjoyed the incredible variety of landscapes around the country — from geysers and waterfalls to lava fields and more. It is especially wonderful to hear your kind comments about Helmir. We are very proud of our guides, and we will gladly pass your compliments on to him. We also appreciate you mentioning the dining costs in Iceland, as this can indeed be useful information for future travelers planning their visit. Thank you again for your recommendation. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Iceland one day in the future. Team Snaeland

An action-packed holiday with lots of waterfalls!

I had the most incredible time. Heimir was a truly excellent guide; so friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I loved seeing all the waterfalls on this trip, we made a few extra stops than on the program and every one of them was beautiful. This was an action packed week which let us see a little bit of everything. I would highly recommend this tour!

    Icelandic Adventure!

Amazing trip around Iceland with my mom. Outlr tour guide / driver, Ellert, was very knowledgeable. We went early in the season,so some shops in more rural areas don't open until May 1st. While prices in restaurants were much higher than I'm accustomed to at home, there also wasn't a single disappointing meal the entire week, including sandwiches and hot dogs from gas stations and grocery stores in the rural areas! Make sure to bring a water bottle / travel mug to make tea or coffee at your hotel, and recommend waterproof pants and jacket for sure.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your journey around Iceland and that Ellert made such a positive impression. It’s also great to hear that you found the trip smooth and enjoyable throughout. Your practical tips for future travelers are very much appreciated as well.

    This tour was incredible....

This tour was incredible. I feel like we got to see all the highlights in Iceland. The tour guide and bus driver were great. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about Iceland. We had one handicap person that walks with a cane in our family group. He was not able to get into the raft on the boat tour of the lagoon. He had to walk down a treacherous rocky path just to turn around and go back. I think warnings should be stated in the itinerary that not all activities are for everyone. Also one of the waterfalls was very treacherous with icy paths and an extremely long walk. Only about half of our group even tried to get there. There was nothing stated in the itinerary or told to us by our guide. The hotels were very nice and the breakfast buffets were very good. All in all the tour was wonderful.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the tour, your guide and driver, the hotels, and the breakfasts. We’re sorry that some activities and walking routes were more difficult than expected, especially for your family member who walks with a cane. Your feedback about clearer accessibility and terrain warnings is very helpful, and we will review how this information is presented in our itineraries. We’re glad you had a wonderful tour overall, and we truly appreciate your comments.

7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland cost?

    +

Prices start at $1694 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland take?

    +

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 7-Day Small Group Journey Around Iceland start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
