Amazing experience
I had an amazing experience with Blue Water! They did a great job with our kids, teaching them and being super patient with them as well. I could not have been happier. Captain James took us to multiple spots, stayed when fish were hitting and left when they weren’t. The best charter I’ve ever done, absolutely worth every penny. If you are near the area and looking for one, stop looking and book with Blue Water!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the awesome review. Was great having you guys on board and I look forward to seeing you again in the near future!

6 hour off-shore trip
From the moment I introduced myself to Capt. James, I knew it was going to be a great trip! He has a magnetic personality and is extremely passionate about what he does. It is evident he is "living the dream." He worked SO HARD to get us on to fish ; and so he did for all six, wonderful hours. It was "game on" from our first reef to last. He has the patience of Job and was unflappable when lines got crossed, broke off, etc. If I could make a list of all of the attributes I wished to see in a guide, Capt. James would have EVERY ONE of them and then some. He is truly something special. He has my highest recommendation. John F. Kludt, OD

Great Trip
Tom and Sam were awesome. We had 11 in our group and hit our limit (red snapper) by 10. The trip was easy and went smoothly. We had a great time.

Can't wait to try it again
This was my first time fishing off Alabama. In my 70 year old life I have fished all over the USA,Canada, and Mexico, fresh and saltwater. My 6 hour off shore trip with Captain James Bertrand was among the finest I've ever experienced. Non stop action. This man can really put you on the fish. On my April booking I hooked most Red Snappers which had to be released due to the closed season that month. I also caught Vermillion Snappers and Triggerfish which can be kept for the table. If you keep any fish, he will clean them and bag them up for you.His boat and gear is off the highest quality. That trolling motor on the bow eliminates the need for an anchor. It's GPS controlled and will hold the boat over the structure holding the fish. When you drop that line, baited with squid or cigar minnow.it's fish on.Your arms will get tired pulling them in. He didn't have to move the boat very often and when he did it was not much of a run. The fishing was super at every spot he did, hooking fish immediately. He can toss out some chum and it's amazing how many large fish will rise to the surface. Quite a sight to see. I'm going to get back there next year when the Red Snapper season is open.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the awesome review. It was great fishing with you and I hope to see you down this way and back on board soon!

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Orange Beach.
How much does 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter cost?
+
Prices start at $1600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Orange Beach usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Orange Beach is not rushed.
Is 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Orange Beach, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Orange Beach can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Orange Beach and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6-Hour Private Off-Shore Fishing Charter start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Orange Beach within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Orange Beach?
+
Orange Beach, AL packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Orange Beach by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Orange Beach experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include BIG FUN Dolphin Cruise & Sealife Experiece ORANGE BEACH ALABAMA, Alabama Gulf Coast Dolphin Cruise, Dolphin and Nature Sunset Cruise from Orange Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Orange Beach?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Orange Beach, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Orange Beach?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
