Best safari experience for seeing animals

One of the best safari experience. We did a safari at privately game reserve in South Africa before but Tanzania national parks blew us away with the different scenery and animal diversity. We were very lucky to see all the big five animals, over 30 species of mammals and birds, the migration as well as river crossing and lions & leopard feedings. I booked the trip with Gift Tembo and he was a pleasure to communicate with from beginning to end; all questions are answered clearly and promptly. Everything was arranged flawlessly. Our game/guide, Patrick, was very knowledgeable, patient, polite and a great driver. Our cook, Dula, prepared all the delicious meals. We were also lucky to have a great group of people sharing the trip together. Great memory and experience; highly recommend.

Most amazing experience of my life!!!

I had the most incredible time doing the 6 day safari with my cousin. Our driver Patrick was so knowledgeable and such a great driver. He made sure we saw all the animals we wanted to see. Our chef for the week was Buga and he was so accommodating and made such delicious meals everyday. Would 100% recommend booking with Meru Slopes for a safari!!

    Best Experience Ever

We had an incredible 6-day budget camping Great Migration safari tour and loved every minute of it. The entire experience exceeded our expectations, from the breathtaking wildlife sightings to the amazing team that took care of us throughout the trip. A special thank you to our guide, Patrick, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and worked hard to ensure we had the best possible safari experience. Thanks to his expertise, we were fortunate enough to see the Big Five, along with countless other animals and unforgettable scenes from the Great Migration. We also want to recognize Chef Buga, who prepared delicious meals throughout the tour. The food was consistently good, fresh, and plentiful, especially considering we were camping. The camping experience was great overall, but it’s worth noting that there was no hot water at the Serengeti campsite, and toilet paper and soap were not always available. Future travelers should bring their own supplies to be comfortable. Overall, this safari was amazing and offered excellent value for money. We loved everything about the experience and would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic budget camping safari in Tanzania.

    Lifechanging Safari experience!!!!

What an incredible experience! My friend and I chose this company for our very first safari in March 2026. As it was rainy season, we weren’t sure what to expect and figured not to get our hopes up about the experience and what we were going to be able to see. This safari exceeded ALL of our expectations. Our guide Samuel was the most incredible, knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly guide. He welcomed us from the moment we joined him on the Safari and made us feel at home with his hospitality. He knew all of the parks incredibly well and we were able to see every animal on our bucket list, even the rarest ones! He was so generous, always carrying our bags, offering us plenty of food and beverages, and making sure we were comfortable at all times and having fun. We hope that everyone gets a chance to spend time with him! We also absolutely loved our chef, Yohanni! What an incredible chef – we had the most amazing homemade food on the trip. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and funny. He was willing to show us how he made some of the food and even let us join in on making it! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Samuel and Yohanni. We are female travelers and this was our first time in Africa, and they made us feel incredibly safe and at home at all times. We hope that everyone gets a chance to go on Safari with them! Most special and incredible experience of my life!!!

6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.

How much does 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,560 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration take?

    +

Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.

Is 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 46 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 144-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 6 Days Tanzania Budget Camping join group Safari with Migration start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
