5 day mid range private Safari.

My daughter and I have just returned from a 5 night private mid range safari. From the very beginning dealing with Gift Tembo via WhatsApp everything went really smoothly. All my questions were answered very quickly. All the accommodation was wonderful. As for our guide Rasheed, well what can I say! He was incredible! He made us both feel at ease. They way he could spot wildlife from such a great distance blew us away. We saw the big 5, a wilderbeast river crossing, a cheetah hunt and kill, and lionesses with very young cubs, just to name a few! Don't hesitate to book with meru slopes, you won't be disappointed! I'd recommend, if you can, to book a private tour. Much more room in the jeep to move around, and also to get comfortable. You spend many hours on bumpy, dusty roads. (Bring a blow up pillow!) Hopefully we'll come back again one day, and this time, no deciding which of the many tour companies to book with!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted that Gift Tembo and Rasheed made your safari with your daughter so special. Those wildlife encounters must have been incredible! We’d be absolutely thrilled to welcome you both back to Tanzania for another unforgettable adventure with us. Warm regards, Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris

An exceptional experience from beginning to end!

We first spoke with Almachius to organize our safari, and he was extremely attentive from the very beginning. He really understood what we were looking for and created an itinerary that perfectly matched our expectations. The lodges he selected were all very well chosen, with beautiful settings and some truly unforgettable moments, including enjoying a drink at sunset while watching buffalo just a few meters away! But what truly made this safari so special was our guide, Barikhi. He is an exceptional person: warm, kind, passionate and incredibly attentive, while always knowing when to give us space and simply let us enjoy the moment. Over the course of the safari, he shared so much of his knowledge with us, but above all, he passed on his genuine love and respect for wildlife and nature. What we particularly loved was his approach to safari. Rather than chasing animals or trying to get as close as possible at all costs, his philosophy was to observe, be patient and appreciate whatever nature chose to show us. He taught us to take our time, understand animal behavior and really observe what was happening around us. Watching a lioness hunt from a distance, understanding her movements and trying to anticipate what she might do next can be just as extraordinary as seeing her from only a few meters away. Beyond his knowledge and professionalism, we will especially remember the moments we shared with him, his kindness and his passion. After spending several days together, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye at the end of the safari! A huge thank you to Almachius for organizing such a wonderful trip, and especially to Barikhi for making this experience so memorable. If we were to go on safari again tomorrow, we would choose to go with Meru Slopes and Barikhi without hesitation!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We're delighted that Almachius crafted the perfect itinerary and that Barikhi's patient, respectful approach to wildlife made such a lasting impression. We'll be sure to share your kind words with them both! Warm regards, Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris

5 day Serengeti Safari with Nuru!

Recently coming off a 5 day safari in Kenya I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy doing “back to back” tours. Meru Slopes did not disappoint, nor did Tanzania🇹🇿.. the Serengeti was NEXT LEVEL and our driver Nuru clearly enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the flora and fauna everywhere we went. If you remember when booking to ask for him: excellent driver and knows his stuff.. even taught us some Swahili songs🎶 Our group had so much fun, and I could tell no one wanted the tour to end. Camping under the stars was amazing (hearing lions roar mid morning reminds you aren’t in Kansas anymore! Haha let’s talk about the food - our cook changed things up every day and we were all quite impressed in his ability to create such wonderful meals in a camping environment- WOW WOW WOW- his name is “Dula” and he loved getting showered with compliments of his fabulous food. It’s one day later and I already miss him (LOL!) Booking was easy with a wonderful man named “Gift”… made reserving the tour easy and answered all my questions promptly

An amazing experience with Meru slopes

Our safari with Meru Slopes was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives. (We did the 5-day/4-night safari, visiting Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater and it was the perfect choice for us.) From beginning to end, everything exceeded our expectations. A very special thank you goes to Juma, who is, without a doubt, the best guide in the world. He has the biggest heart and went above and beyond every single day to make sure we were happy. No request was ever too much for him—he did everything possible to fulfill our every wish, and even more. Thanks to his incredible knowledge, sharp eyes, patience, and determination, we were lucky enough to see every animal we had dreamed of seeing. He always made us feel safe, welcomed, and cared for, and his passion for wildlife and his country made every moment even more special. We will never forget the incredible memories he helped create for us. A huge thank you also to Doullah, who is an outstanding chef. Every single meal was fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. The food was incredibly varied, and he was always flexible, adapting the meals to our tastes and preferences with a smile. It honestly felt like dining in a restaurant after every game drive! His kindness and dedication made the experience even more enjoyable. Together, Juma and Doullah made the perfect team. They didn’t just provide a safari—they created an experience filled with unforgettable moments, laughter, comfort, and genuine care. If you are looking for the safari of a lifetime, we cannot recommend Meru Slopes highly enough. Thank you for giving us memories that we will treasure forever. We hope to come back one day!

How long does 5 Days Camping Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro crater & Visiting Maasai take?

    +

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
