It's not what I was hoping for

One day before arriving, they changed my hotel and tried to give me a single room when I had paid for a double room. The next day, they took us to visit Moray, and we couldn't explore because the guide had to take another group to another place; they only gave us 20 minutes to take photos. They took us to Ollantaytambo, and the guide left us there because he had to go with another group to another place. We had to explore on our own and then head by ourselves to the train station where we had to wait for 1 hour and 40 minutes because the train was delayed. No one contacted us or guided us at all. I could go on listing everything that disappointed me about this tour, but I’ll just end by saying that this agency didn’t care that we were outsiders and that doing so many activities affected our health (we all were sick of our stomach), and they never cared about how we were handling all these activities without them giving us instructions or a detailed itinerary of what we were going to do each day. This experience is something I’ll keep in mind today, so I won’t trust travel agencies for my future trips.

Great communication via...

Great communication via Whatsapp. Cell phone with data access essential. Well organized tour, excellent guides, amazing sights. Ensure the agent has booked your Machu Picchu tickets weeks before starting trip or you risk having to queue for hours for tickets and might miss out.

The good, bad and creepy

I would have given 5 stars but there was alot of confusion and unorganized things happening. Being that I traveled solo. I had to depend on myself for answers. I had to make many calls to tour people. A few times I was just dropped off without a clue as to where I was. All of the buildings look the same after awhile. And I was just wondering around in circles. Thank God there are some nice people out there. I got to see everything that I wanted to see. Some parts to me were a money grab. The one hotel that I stayed in I would have given a half star.

Response from the operator: Dear Christine I don't understand your complaint! We fulfilled all our services, and you knew that all tours ended next to the Plaza. We gave you precise instructions on how to get to the hotel and assigned you one just 3 minutes from the plaza. We were monitoring the situation at all times. We are very sorry for you. Thank you for your feedback.

5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain cost?

+

Prices start at $614 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain take?

+

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5-Day Tour to Machupicchu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
