We had a wonderful experience overall. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared a wealth of information, stories, and sagas that really brought the journey to life. He was professional throughout, and we truly appreciated how smoothly and efficiently everything was organized. I would happily book another tour with him in a heartbeat. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5-star rating is due to some recurring delays caused by a few guests who were consistently late returning to the bus. While this was not the guide’s fault, I felt that stricter reinforcement of meeting times—something I’ve seen on other tours—might have helped keep things running more punctually and ensured everyone’s time was respected. That said, aside from this minor issue, everything else was excellent, and we had a great experience.

Response from the operator: Hi Amanda, Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful review – it’s truly appreciated. We’re delighted to hear you had a wonderful experience overall and that your guide made the journey engaging and memorable. We’ll be sure to pass on your kind words. We also appreciate your feedback regarding timing during the tour. This is a very valid point, and we continuously work with our guides to balance flexibility with keeping the schedule running smoothly for everyone. Thank you again for traveling with us. Warm regards, Team Snæland Travel

    Amazing tour.

I have just returned from the 5 day tour. The itinerary was excellent and we visited all the sites planned. Peter our guide was so very knowledgeable about Iceland, its geology and the people and provided helpful insight into this amazing country. He coped admirably with challenging driving conditions and his English commentary was really helpful. Icelandic weather is changeable, and the country is expensive and lots of tourists here, but the natural sights are amazing. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that the itinerary met your expectations. It’s especially great to hear your kind words about Peter – we’re very proud of our guides, and he will truly appreciate your feedback. Iceland’s weather can certainly be unpredictable, so we’re glad everything worked out well and that you were able to experience the country at its best.

We wanted to share our experience and gratitude towards the incredibly professional, patient, knowledgeable and humorous Ellert. Thank you to him for being such an integral part of our memorable trip! He provided enough information to satisfy us all but provoked us to research more in our down time. And answered many questions from the group as well. It all felt very personal even if it was a well rehearsed script. The stops met a variety of interests and experiences. Nice short walks or options for more challenging terrains, if you fancied. Plenty of rest stops in clean amenities along the way as well. The coach was 10/10, clean and comfortable. The hotels associated with the trip were just right for our needs as well. We would recommend the trip and company. Thank you again to Ellert. He's prompted me to find some folklore tales for my child, who may just still be young enough to enjoy them.

Response from the operator: Hi Susiek, Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that everything from the itinerary and comfort to the hotels met your expectations. It’s always great to hear when the balance of activities and relaxation works well for our guests. We are especially happy to hear your feedback about Ellert – he is indeed one of our very best guides, and we will make sure to pass your kind words on to him. Thank you again for your recommendation

5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $960 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt & Glacier Lagoon Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
