Solo female traveller
The whole trip was very carefully planned. We stayed in various types of accommodations, near the beach, farms, etc. Christine was an amazing guide. She showed us the best spots along the route. All the hosting places were amazing as well with their hospitality and delicious food. I would highly recommend this to anyone planning a trip to South Africa.

A great trip. Cape Town to Port Elizabeth by road.
We had a fantastic trip. The scenery, stops and accommodation were excellent. Our guide, Gareth, was informative, fun and really ensured everyone had a great time. We really enjoyed being with the other travellers and made some great friends. We would warmly recommend this trip. Do not miss the optional Addo Elephant safari!

Agency communication was fine, but guide did not respect request for quiet
To be fair, the agency's communication was quite good — responsive and clear. The guide, however, wasn't really a good fit for us. He talked constantly throughout the trip, even when there wasn't much to say. We tried to politely hint that we needed some quiet time, and even gently asked if he could lower the talking a little, but it didn't seem to help. I think he meant well, but it just felt like he wasn't picking up on our cues. The experience ended up being more tiring than relaxing. Overall, the agency seems fine, but I'd suggest requesting a different guide if you're someone who prefers a quieter, more laid-back tour
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Good evening, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your Earthstompers experience. We really appreciate your kind comments about our team’s communication and responsiveness. It is something we place allot of focus on, and the team works hard to ensure everything runs smoothly before, during, and after each tour. As a small family-run business, we take all reviews seriously and to heart. Our team and guides was naturally disappointed to read your comment about the guide talking too much, and that this impacted your overall experience. We place a strong focus on guide education and training, and we are proud to work with guides who are not only qualified and experienced, but who also have a genuine passion for South Africa, its people, and what they do. For most of our guests, the guiding and storytelling is a real highlight of the tour. A guide’s role is to share the history of the areas visited, offer insight into South Africa’s people, culture, wildlife, and landscapes, and to keep guests informed about the day’s plans, travel times, and logistics. On group tours, they also need to balance the needs of the entire group and ensure that everyone feels comfortable and well looked after. That said, we are sure you are right and it was never your guide’s intention to overwhelm you or talk to much. We also understand that preferences can differ from one guest to the next. For guests who prefer a different experience or minimal guiding this can be requested, we do offer private tours, or we can arrange transport-only options where appropriate. We are sorry that this aspect of the experience did not meet your expectations. Thank you for supporting our family business, your travels really do make a difference in South Africa. By travelling with us, you contribute in a meaningful way to the places we visit, from national park fees that support conservation, to local communities through our community contribution, as well as the small businesses we work with and visit along the way. Why this scores 87
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth cost?
+
Prices start at $13900 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 135 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins Day Tour from Cape Town, Table Mountain, Boulders Penguins and Cape point Day Tour, Wine Tour: Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch incl 3 wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
