Wari Tours guided me in the most memorable birthday experience horseback riding at the Andes & Visiting Machu Picchu

I completed the private horseback riding trek through the high Andes mountains of Peru, camping up there, then riding down through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, down to the beautiful little old Native indigenous town of Ollantaytambo, to celebrate my birthday on January 6. And not to mention the majestic train ride and finally arriving at Machu Picchu! My Guide was Alfredo from Wari Tours. He was an exceptional tour guide! And this was one of the most spectacular and meaningful tours I have done in all my travels around the world. He was very knowledgeable, informative, friendly, honest, fun, caring and detailed. He is of indigenous descent and well connected with his community, so the staff like the cook, the horse Owner, the accompanying lady, all were authentic indigenous, knowledgeable working people. I highly recommend this Tour Agency. Xiomara

Response from the operator: Dear Xiomara, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a beautiful and meaningful review. It truly means a lot to all of us at Wari Tours. It was an honor to be part of your birthday celebration and to share this special journey through the high Andes, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu with you. We are deeply grateful for your kind words about the experience, the guiding, and the connection with our indigenous communities. Supporting and working alongside local families is at the heart of what we do. Your appreciation of our team—the horse owners, cook, and everyone involved—will make them very proud. Experiences like yours are exactly why we are passionate about creating authentic, soulful journeys in Peru. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Peru one day for another adventure. With gratitude and warm wishes, Wari Tours Team

How long does 5 Day Ancient Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Horseback Riding Trek take?

+

Is 5 Day Ancient Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Horseback Riding Trek worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

+

Is 5 Day Ancient Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Horseback Riding Trek suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 5 Day Ancient Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Horseback Riding Trek?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5 Day Ancient Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Horseback Riding Trek start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
