Epic food, vibes, and people
From Milo’s radiant personality, to his knowledge and love of local and Colombian cuisine, to the fresh ingredients and clear cooking instructions, right down to the overall atmosphere at Wiqu: the cooking class was a truly special experience! The result was absolutely delicious—I never would have thought I could cook like that. Wiqu is a place where you can relax, feel comfortable and safe, and meet new people. I left the class with a full heart, empty stomach, new friends, and a place I’ll definitely be returning to again and again.
Response from the operator: We are so happy Milo made the class feel special, relaxed, and full of great food and good energy 😊 Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta

A recommended worthwhile experience
I really enjoyed the curated experience by Camilo. He was very passionate about the cusine and made the cooking experience really enjoyable for the 6 of us that attended. You will go in there hungry, but leave with a full belly. Camilo can help you practice your Spanish for the kitchen as well!
Response from the operator: We really appreciate that. It is great to hear Camilo made the experience enjoyable, passionate, and filling 😊 Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta

A social way to discover Colombian cuisine
Overall, it was a good experience and a nice hands-on way to discover Colombian cuisine. We prepared fiambre in a small group of around 6–7 people, which made it feel quite easy to connect with others. Camilo, the chef, was friendly, and I appreciated that he offered a vegetarian option using cheese and eggs instead of meat. It was interesting to learn a bit about the cultural background of the dish, although I personally would have enjoyed a bit more depth on the history. The experience ended with sharing the meal together, which was a nice social moment. The class itself was nice, but I found it quite long personally, around four hours, and at times it felt like there was a lot of waiting between steps. Standing for that duration also made it a bit tiring. That said, it’s clear that the dish involves many steps, and Camilo was managing everything on his own, which I can imagine is not easy. A slightly more structured setup or splitting tasks between smaller groups might make the flow smoother.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the thoughtful feedback. We are glad the small-group setting and Camilo’s guidance made the experience enjoyable and easy to connect over 😊 Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta

Authentic, hands-on Colombian cooking experience in a relaxed small-group setting
I took a 4-hour Colombian cooking class in Medellín and it ended up being one of the most enjoyable and worthwhile experiences I’ve had here. The class was small—only six students—which made a big difference. It felt relaxed and interactive rather than structured or rushed. The instructor was also the owner of the restaurant, which added a lot of depth. You could tell this wasn’t just a scripted class—he had real experience, context, and stories behind the food. We prepared several traditional dishes from scratch, including marranitas (fried plantain stuffed with meat), a fiambre-style dish wrapped in leaves, and a fresh fruit salpicón. Everything was very hands-on, and I appreciated that it wasn’t just about following steps—you could ask questions and understand the reasoning behind techniques and ingredients. What stood out most was the balance: it was organized enough to keep things moving over four hours, but casual enough to actually enjoy the process. It never felt like a class you had to “get through.” The setting itself was great as well—being inside a working restaurant gave it a more authentic feel compared to a studio setup. I’d especially recommend this for beginner to intermediate cooks who want something engaging and practical without it feeling overly technical. Overall, a great way to go beyond just eating Colombian food and actually understand it.
Response from the operator: We really appreciate such a detailed review. It is wonderful to hear the class felt authentic, hands-on, and relaxed, and that the restaurant setting added to the experience 🍽️ Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta

Solid Food Experience
Camilo, our cooking leader was especially cordial and always made sure that everyone was engaged. The food was tasty and the process of making it was made clear by showing us "the way his mother made it". The pace of the class could be streamlined a bit.
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful and balanced review. It’s great to hear you enjoyed both the flavors and the way Camilo shared his family approach to cooking. We also appreciate the note on pacing — that kind of feedback genuinely helps refine the experience. 📝 Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta

4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Medellín.
How much does 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Medellín usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Medellín is not rushed.
Is 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Medellín, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Medellín can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Medellín and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4hr Cooking Class in Medellín with Traditional Recipes and Drinks start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Medellín within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Medellín?
+
On Outty we rank every Medellín experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guatapé Tour: Piedra del Peñol with Boat Tour, Breakfast, Lunch, Half-Day Coffee Tour: From the Seed to the Cup, Farm & roastery, Private Guatape & Coffee Farm Tour: The Two Must do in One Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Medellín?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Medellín?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
