Don’t book with this company
I wouldn’t book anything with this company. I had bought 8 tickets and one of my friends couldn’t make it. I contacted their office and asked if I could return one ticket and just make it 7. I was told yes this wouldn’t be a problem. So, we went on the tour. The boat chose to wait 45 minutes to leave the island after we were told to board in order to get two passengers from another one of their boats that was coming in late. It was well over 90 degrees outside and there is no AC on the boat. Their credit card machine also wasn’t working so we couldn’t get water. The day after the tour I contacted the office to ask when I would get a refund for the one ticket. I was told I wouldn’t get a refund because I was outside of the 72 hour window. If I had been told this when I called originally, I would have given the ticket to someone else. Or, at the very least I would have asked for the meal and drink vouchers that came with the 8th ticket. They refuse to take responsibility for their communication mistake and insist on not giving me a refund or even addressing any of my concerns. I would skip this trip and find another company that values customer service.

Dissatisfied
We arrived checked in, paid and signed the waiver. Waited for our turn and when it came they did not have a working pontoon boat! Apparently they can't count. They had three reservations and 2 working boats. The boats were all beat up and in terrible condition. They did offer us a refund and to find another place with a boat. I would not recommend.

This was such a great...
This was such a great experience and so much fun! The staff were so helpful! We definitely plan on booking again!

Had a wonderful adventure...
Had a wonderful adventure and saw lots of dolphins. The staff was great, but the pontoon could use some updating. It had some torn upholstery and we had lots of trouble with the engine backfiring and stopping. That was very frustrating.

Have FUN, Be SAFE!
Rented a pontoon boat for 4-hours. The staff was great! Courtney & Carter did a fantastic job with customer service. The boat was in okay condition. 70HP was a little low for 6 adults, but it ran:) Our only issue during the day was our boat was boarded by the Coast Guard. Registration was expired and the horn did not work. Fortunately the citation was issued to the company. Be sure to pay attention during the orientation, know where the registration is, and check registration, horn | whistle, and of course all other safety equipment! Have fun!

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hilton Head Island.
How much does 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental cost?
+
Prices start at $550 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hilton Head Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hilton Head Island is not rushed.
Is 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hilton Head Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hilton Head Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hilton Head Island and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4-Hour Private Hilton Head Pontoon Boat Rental start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hilton Head Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hilton Head Island?
+
Hilton Head sells dolphin and sunset cruises out of Broad Creek, kayak and boat trips through Lowcountry salt marsh, bike rentals for the island trail network and shrimping demonstrations. On Outty we rank every Hilton Head Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Hilton Head Guided Kayak Nature Tour, Hilton Head Island Dolphin Boat Cruise, Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island?
+
March to May and September to November, warm without peak summer crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hilton Head Island?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
