Amazing tour of Southern Morocco and the Sahara desert. Abdul is an outstanding driver/guide.

We had an amazing time doing this 4 day/3 night tour starting in Marrakech via Merzouga and ending in Fes. Our driver, Abdul, picked us up in Marrakech in a 4x4 perfectly prepped for a 4 day trip: water, pillows, Morocco Fodor’s guide and even gifts such as a hat and a t-shirt. Abdul spoke perfect English (as well as, of course, French, Arabic and Berber). He was an excellent, very knowledgeable guide. He took us to the most amazing places and showed us the best views. He was a very experienced and cautious driver, navigating challenging chaotic traffic, mountaneous switchbacks and long highways. He was extremely polite, attentive and considerate. We can not recommend him highly enough. We stayed at 2 hotels and a luxury camp in the desert along the way. The hotel in Soukra and the desert camp were nice, however, the hotel during our 1st night in Merzuga was not to our standards (seemed more like a hostel). We ended up finding our own hotel for that night and Abdul was gracious enough to drive us and our luggage there and then pick us up the next morning. I noticed a similar comment in other reviews so that’s our only criticism. The entire trip went smoothly, safely and was very enjoyable. We recommend this tour agency highly with our only suggestion being checking the hotels ahead of time to make sure you are happy with them. Abdul is a super nice and a tremendously hard working guide/driver and if you get him, consider yourselves lucky!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Dear Constantine, we are delighted to receive your feedback about your vacation to the desert, truly enjoyed reading throughout your trip report, such a dream trip for Visitors as we re very happy we make it possible and fun for you. You are always more than welcome to Morocco! Have a nice continuation of your trip around and have a safe trip back home. All the best, Youssef.

A phenomenal adventure

There are lots of options available when booking tours through Morocco but I decided to go with Morocco Imperial Tours (formerly Expert Morocco tours) based on extensive feedback I read online. Yousef helped craft a personalized itinerary that hit up Marrakech, the Sahara desert, Fez and Chefchuan. He was very easy to communicate with over WhatsApp and helped answer any concerns / logistics questions. We opted to book our own hotels. The price they offered for the overall tour was very reasonable. Abdul, our driver/ guide / and now friend, was professional, caring and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. Despite not me speaking any Arabic, he made sure my friend and I were aware of scams and things to watch out for. I never felt pressured to make purchases at any of the shops he suggested. He was also flexible with us when we were running late, or wanted to adjust our schedule. Overall, I had such a wonderful experience and would recommend Morocco Imperial Tours for anyone new to the country.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Dear Omer, we appreciate your kind supportive recommendations, thank you for making it to Morocco and for using our Travel services, Morocco Imperial Tours will always be faithful and do the best for our guests to have a blast Journey in Morocco.

Great tour-5 days

We did the 5 day Marrakech to Fes tour with an overnight in the desert. We saw everything we wanted to see. The guide Omar explained many things and offered lots of information and always answered all kinds of questions. The driver Mustapha was absolutely excellent! (He drives like I do!) All the lodging and meals we had at the hotels were excellent and make accommodations for my vegetarian diet which was much appreciated. Our guide Aziz in the overnight stay in the desert was also terrific. Also our communication with Youssef the owner of the company was excellent. He answered our questions when we called him via WhatsApp and also follow ups via email. I highly recommend this company for having a relaxing and stress free tour from Marrakech to Fez and all points in between.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much David, Appreciate your kind report about your Brief 5 Days desert tour, as we re very happy you loved Morocco and get the best experience with us.

4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $540 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour take?

+

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4 Days Marrakech To Fes Desert Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, From Marrakech To Essaouira Mogador Full Day Trip | Small-group, Agafay Desert Package, Quad Bike, Camel Ride and Dinner Show. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
