Bamboo Ecotours should be your choice!

I cannot recommend Bamboo Eco tours highly enough! Edison is one of the, if not the best tour company owners I have seen. He is prompt, precise, respectful, kind in communication. He simply answers with the exact right information you ask. No trying to push you for anything no asking for favors (like writing a review on TripAdvisor ;) He just does his job as it should be done in a decent world. Not only that, Bamboo Ecotours prices are competitive and they take credit cards at no extra charge, don't ask for a deposit in advance to profit from any misfortune you might have (apart from the gorilla permit which is of course normal as they are non-refundable). I finally would like to give a shout out to my nice driver-guide Amanya. (By the way, I want to mention that he noted, during a conversation, that Edison was a caring boss as well, not binding his guides when there's no work, being flexible so they can earn their living.) I appreciate people like Edison immensely in this world where everyone (well almost everyone is only considering their self-interest, or are fake or pushy.) and I believe such people should be supported wholeheartedly. In short, you can (and should ;) go with Bamboo Ecotours without any reservations. You'll be in safe and caring hands. What's more, you'll be supporting qualities that are getting harder and harder to find in our modern internet age where everything is about trying to monetize, where travel has become and industry. Bamboo Ecotours is a fresh bit of air

    Highly recommended!

Uganda is a beautiful country and this tour allowed us to see some of its highlights. Our guide Jackson was super friendly and knowledgeable, always stopping to point out wildlife and nature. Things were well organized and if there was an issue with the accommodation, Jackson saw to it that it was resolved. Food was great and the excursions unforgettable. All in all, a great trip. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Many thanks for the review and the recommendation!

    Excellent Professional Company

Our tour guide was Manya, He was excellent in every way, professional knowledgeable and very personable. He is part of the reason we are giving our experience an excellent rating. Seeing the gorilla's was an unforgettable life experience. Lake Bunyonyi was also well worth visiting but after a long drive I don't think we appreciated it as much as we could have. We also visited Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the climbing Lions but they must have been on holiday !!!! Bamboo Ecotours is an excellent professional company and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write this excellent review! Glad to hear you had an amazing trip and Amanya met your expectations of a guide/driver. Hope to see you again in Uganda!

    Bamboo Excelence

From the first contact to the end of my Safari everyone, Edison with planning and Chance as my guide, were professional! Things happened as planned and on time - They were clear in all aspects: planning, payment, to accommodations, transportation, and activities. My trip was made memorable and meaningful as a direct result of their efforts and I can not provide a higher endorsement. Start to finish.

Response from the operator: Many thanks Rye for taking the time to post this feedback on your trip. We really appreciate the 5-star rating of our services. Very glad the trip went well as expected. Hoping to host you again in the future. -Edison

Amazing Gorilla Trek at Mgahinga National Park

I had an amazing trip thanks to Bamboo Ecotours. As a solo female traveler, I wanted to make sure that I was using a reputable travel company and also supported local businesses. Edison was extremely communicative and helpful to me in planning my trip ahead of time and providing me with all the information and options available. Fred was my driver and was extremely professional and helpful during the entire trip. In fact, I had other people at the lodge I was staying at (that had booked through a large, expensive, international agency) ask who I had booked through since they were not experiencing the same high level of service that I had received and had paid a lot more for their trip. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely travel with them again.

Response from the operator: Hi Sinclaire, many thanks for taking the time to post this review. We appreciate it! It is very encouraging for us to have guests like you who enjoy supporting local businesses. -Edison & team

4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kampala.

How much does 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi cost?

    +

Prices start at $2,089 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kampala usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi take?

    +

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kampala is not rushed.

Is 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Kampala, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kampala can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kampala and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Lake Bunyonyi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kampala within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kampala?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kampala experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kampala’s Best Experience walking tour, Kampala Walking City Tours (Women-Guided), Kampala Heart of Walking Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kampala?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kampala?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

    +

Included: Gorilla permits, driver/guide, 4x4 vehicle, park entry fees; Lunch; Dinner; and Breakfast. Not included: Flights, travel insurance, personal costs. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
