⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Karina and Alex Made Our Trip to Peru Truly Extraordinary

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Karina and Alex Made Our Trip to Peru Truly Extraordinary We have traveled to many parts of the world and had many wonderful guides, but our experience with Karina was something truly special. Karina met us at the airport and was with us from the very beginning of our trip, introducing us to the region and taking us to Maras and Moray before getting us to the train for Machu Picchu. From those first hours together, it was clear that she wasn’t simply going to show us the sights. She shared the history, culture, traditions, and everyday life of the region in such a personal and engaging way that we immediately felt connected to the place—and to her. We had a very good experience with Roger as our guide at Machu Picchu. He was insightful, shared incredible history with passion, and navigated lanes and lines to maximize our experience. Our boys learned a lot from him and he kept their interests. Rosa was helpful coordinating and assisting us along the way. We appreciated both of them and everything they contributed to our trip. But Karina was the heart of our experience in Peru. She rejoined us for two of the most demanding and memorable adventures of our trip: hiking Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain. She hiked right alongside us, encouraging us, teaching us, laughing with us, and prepping us in mind, body, and spirit at the start of each journey. What we will remember most, though, was how genuinely she cared for our family. When our son Henry became fatigued after that first hike, Karina immediately noticed. She looked after him with such attentiveness and kindness that it went far beyond what we would ever expect from a guide. As parents traveling far from home, that meant an enormous amount to us. Karina has an extraordinary ability to make you feel as though you are experiencing Peru with a friend rather than simply touring it with a guide. She connected with each of us in different ways, and by the end of our time together, saying goodbye was genuinely difficult. She is an exceptional ambassador for Peru, its people, and its culture. And then there is Alex, our incredible driver. He deserves every bit as much praise. Some of the terrain and roads we traveled were genuinely harrowing, yet Alex was absolutely impeccable behind the wheel. He was calm, careful, patient, and extraordinarily skilled. Not once did we feel unsafe. Beyond his driving, he was kind, caring, funny, and wonderful company. We had excellent conversations during all those hours on the road, and he became an important part of the experience rather than simply the person getting us from one destination to another. The mountains, lakes, archaeological sites, and landscapes of Peru were spectacular. But after traveling all over the world, we can say that the level of personal care we received from Karina and Alex stands apart. Long after we have forgotten the details of individual stops, we will remember how these two people made our family feel. Karina and Alex didn’t just help us see Peru. They are a huge part of why we fell in love with it. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this truly extraordinary review - one of the most heartfelt we have ever received. Karina and Alex will be deeply moved to read every word of this, and we will make sure they do. What you wrote about Karina captures her perfectly - that rare ability to make guests feel like they are experiencing a place with a friend rather than a guide is a gift that simply cannot be taught. Her care for Henry when he was fatigued, her presence on those demanding hikes, and the genuine connection she built with each member of your family are the qualities that make her truly exceptional. And Alex - his skill on those mountain roads combined with his warmth and humor are exactly what we look for in everyone who represents Exploor. Roger and Rosa will also be glad to hear your kind words - every member of the team plays a part in making a trip like yours come together seamlessly. Reviews like this one remind us why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your family's Peru adventure. Best wishes from the entire Exploor Peru team!

Fabulous Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley Experience

We did a custom private tour package with Exploor in Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco. Overall it was fabulous, truly! The services, drivers, transfer agents, and guides were all really wonderful, especially Junior! The food was awesome, really the meals were top-notch. And of course the tours and sites were just spectacular, we learned so much about the history and culture, it was fascinating.

Response from the operator: Hi Marta, thank you for such a lovely review! We're so glad every element of your trip came together so well - from the transfers and drivers through to the guides and meals. Junior will be especially happy to hear your kind words and we'll make sure he does! Peru really does have a way of leaving you with a thirst for more history and culture, doesn't it? We hope to welcome you back to South America one day! Best wishes from the entire Exploor Peru team

Best trip ever

All the places we went were exceptional. Restaurants amazing, the tour guides incredible. From when they picked us up from the airport to when they dropped us back to the airport. Everything was very well organized. Incredible experience. I’ll definitely book a trip with them again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It means a lot to know that every element of your trip - from the first airport pickup to the final drop-off - felt seamless and well looked after. We put a lot of care into those details, so it's great to hear it showed. Best wishes from the entire Exploor Peru team

Best of the best!

Peru is an amazing country, but our experience wouldn’t have been nearly as great if it weren’t for Exploor. From booking, to airport pickups/drops offs, to excursions and everything in between - our trip was exceptional in every way. Our driver Freddy, and our guides Gris and Joel were friendly, knowledgeable and always on time. I loved not having to think about a thing, and feeling like they always had us taken care of. My biggest complaint is that I can’t use Exploor to book every single trip I go on!! Thank you to the Exploor team for a wonderful week exploring Peru!

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a warm and generous review! Freddy, Gris and Joel will be so happy to hear this - they put a lot of heart into every trip and it really shows when guests feel truly taken care of from start to finish. We love your "complaint" - if only we could follow you on every adventure! We hope to welcome you back to South America one day! Best wishes from the entire Exploor Peru team

4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay cost?

+

Prices start at $1199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay take?

+

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 196 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay?

+

Around 69 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4-Day: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Humantay start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
