Trek of a lifetime!
My boyfriend and I went on the Lares trek in mid-may and it was truly the experience of a lifetime! We were originally going to go with the Saltankay trek, but our guide called me personally and talked through potential hazards of the late rainy season and also talked through how to accommodate my severe nut allergy. I also wanted a trek with a fair amount of cultural knowledge sharing involved, and Lares trek certainly checked the box! We were SO happy with the trip we went on in the end-we traversed from high jungle to high alpine to see the MOST striking vistas of our lives. The trek was extremely locals-focused, and our EXTREMELY knowledgeable guide spoke English, Spanish, and Quechua and seemed to know every local person on the mountain. He led us along llama and alpaca trails and we hardly saw other tour groups, which made the experience extremely intimate and felt authentic in terms of experiencing local culture. The crew has our highest praise - they worked extremely hard the entire time to ensure we were comfortable and happy. When it was very cold sleeping at 13k they gave us “wa-was” - water bladders filled with hot water - to keep in our sleeping bags for warmth at night. We were treated like royalty the entire time, and the meals were done of the best parts of our entire time in Peru… still dreaming of the beautifully plated 3-4 course meals every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We had the chance to interact and learn from locals as well as so much from our guide. He knew every intricate detail about Peru’s entire history like the back of his hand and many meals were spent learning from his vast breadth of knowledge. I have been recommend this trek or any with this company to my friends and one has already gone shortly after me, and we both had 10/10 experiences. Looking forward to another trek someday :)
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re truly happy to hear that you had such a memorable experience on the Lares Trek. It was a pleasure sharing Peru’s culture, history, and beautiful landscapes with you. We’re especially glad our team could make you feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the trek. Thank you for recommending us to your friends—we hope to welcome you back to Peru for another adventure someday!

Amazing Lares Trek Adventure!
This was our favorite adventure of the entire trip. We were in the Cusco/sacred Valley area for almost 3 weeks and did several treks during our stay. The lares trek was very special to us. We got to spend time with in a small village with a local Peruvian family. It was so sweet to stay the night on their property. The Stars were amazing from the valley with the glaciers all around us. Our family gives this trek this 10 out of 10! The food was amazing and so were the accommodations! Elistan took special care of us. We appreciated him so much!
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your amazing experience! We're thrilled you loved the Lares Trek and the special connection with the local family. Elistan will be delighted to hear your kind words. Your feedback means a lot to us!

Lares Trek Peru
The Lares Trek with Allyn Pacha throughout the Andes was surely one of the greatest experiences I’ve had. I really enjoyed all the high views of the Andes and of course, the warmth and kindness of the Quechua villages and their homestays. Allyn Pacha did really well in securing accommodation and setting up a great tour. And lastly I’d like to thank Elistan my tour guide— funny, kind, and extremely knowledgeable on all things Inca. If you’re looking for an adventure, this is it!
Response from the operator: It was a pleasure to organize this experience for you, and Elistan will be very glad to know that you appreciated his guidance and knowledge. Your feedback means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back to Peru for another adventure in the future!

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike cost?
+
Prices start at $880 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 4 Day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Cultural and Scenic Andean Hike?
+
Included: Admission fees; Lunch; Dinner; and Breakfast. Not included: On-board restrooms; and Gratuities. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
