Phenomenal experience with Wade!
We had the most unforgettable 3-day, 4-night safari in Kruger National Park with Wade as our guide for our honeymoon, and he was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment he picked us up at the airport, we were impressed—the van was spotless, modern, and spacious, making the long drives so comfortable. Our first stop was Crocodile Bridge Camp, which was incredible—we even had elephants and giraffes right in front of camp! Each day was packed with adventure, with morning, evening/sunset, and night drives. Some were in open vehicles with camp guides, and others in the van with Wade, giving us the best of both worlds. We were lucky enough to see every animal imaginable, including unforgettable up-close encounters with lions and leopards. Wade went above and beyond—not only as a guide but also as our chef. He prepared every meal with so much care. Breakfasts included eggs, bacon, and toast or fresh fruit and granola; lunches and snacks were always ready; and dinners were incredible with salads, sides, and the most delicious barbecues. Every meal was better than the last. We also stayed at Orpen Camp, which was another highlight of the trip. This safari exceeded every expectation—we can’t recommend Wade highly enough!
Response from the operator: Hi Colleen, Thanks so much for the amazing review, really appreciate you taking the time. Sounds like you had an unforgettable trip, especially for such a special occasion, and great that the sightings delivered across the board. Wade will be absolutely excited to hear this, especially the feedback on both the guiding and the food 😄 Thanks again for travelling with us, and wishing you both all the best. Cheers

A well managed tour
This was a great tour well managed by Wayne and the knowledgeable driver Lucky. All accomodations were excellent (but take your own shampoos etc) and the meals were great too. Kruger is a massive park, a more natural environment than some of the private estates; expect long travels and then wonderful periods of animals in a natural environment. Do not expect a safari park or zoo. We saw the Big 5 with really close up leopards and lion plus 2 bull elephants fighting and great buffalo herds.
Response from the operator: Hi Peter, Thanks so much for the review, really appreciate it. Great to hear you enjoyed the whole experience and that everything ran smoothly. And sounds like you had some fantastic sightings along the way as well. I’ll pass your feedback on to Wade and Lucky, they’ll really appreciate it. Thanks again for travelling with us and for the recommendation. Cheers

Amazing Kruger safari
Overall a great experience from the pick up at joburg airport by Wade , though a long drive, would advise flying to Nelspruit if you have the option, as much closer to Kruger. Wade was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The camps were basic but clean with well stocked shops , all you really need as you don’t sleep much, because of the early/late safaris. We saw the big 5 within 1.5 hrs on the first evening safari then saw the big five another two times . Wade and the assigned safari guides know exactly where to take you to see the ever moving beautiful animals you hope to see but are never guaranteed. We will go back again to North Kruger did south this time . South in March is very lush and dense , so we were lucky to see big 5 three times. Only thing we didn’t see which hopefully we will see in the winter in the north is cheetahs. Would highly recommend the company. Thanks Wade and the team.
Response from the operator: Hi Alan. Thanks so much for the kind words and for traveling with us! You’re spot on—the drive is long but full of views, and flying to Nelspruit is definitely a great tip for future travellers if they have the option. Sounds like you had an amazing run of sightings! Really glad we could make it all happen, especially after the postponement. Hope we can get you up to North Kruger next time and maybe even find those elusive cheetahs! Appreciate the recommendation! Hope to see you soon.

Awesome Safari, highly recommend
My girlfriend and I did this safari and thoroughly enjoyed it, and it surpassed our expectations. As we had our guide personal guide, he could tailor our experience to our needs as he had an in-depth knowledge of Kruger Park. We saw the Big 5 and many more animals. The door-to-door service for the collection and drop off was fantastic, as other providers just put you on a coach. I would highly recommend this.
Response from the operator: Hey Chris. So glad to hear the trip exceeded your expectations! That’s exactly the goal—we love tailoring the experience so it fits each guest perfectly, and having that personal flexibility really makes all the difference. Thanks again for joining us and hope to have you back for round two one day!

Kruger National Park - an experience to remember forever - Private tour - Only way to go!
The Tour was actually a year ago (October 2023). I thought my review was sent but somehow it did not show up, so I am writing it again to make sure is here now. We were 4 in the tour (all adults). Flew from Atlanta to Johannesburg. Stay there one night and the next morning Rhys picked us up and we drove to Kruger Park. Rhys is such a friendly and professional individual . The drive from Johan. To the park was great because Rhys as telling us history about South Africa and all about what we were going to be doing for 4 days, expectations, animals. Etc. Love the fact that we did not have to worry abou anything at all during those 4 days. The “cabins” that we stayed every night were great! Beds were comfortable. We had tours to see the animals with the park and we also had our own private tours with him few times a day (day, afternoon, evening - so you could see different animals). Love the fact that in the morning (you have to leave to see the animals before the sun comes out so you can see them waking up- an experience that you will never forget!). The professional driver/tour person will pick you up and drive . Then after few hours , they will stop in places in the park and there was Rhys cooking fresh breakfast for us ! It was so much fun. They also cooked dinner few times in the BBQ outside , set up the table in the cabins, with salads, wine, etc… it was fun, it was quiet , it was relaxing! We stayed in different locations and cabins within the park during the tour so we could see different types of animals. They were always on time. What i love the most is the fact that with this private tour, you are in control of time and don’t need to worry about anything. They take care of entrance fees, tour time, etc. Had an amazing time , drove us back to Johanna and we left back to US the next morning. We spent few days in Cape Town before we took this amazing tour. Having a private tour with just your own family/friends makes a huge difference! No worries, spend as much time as you want to watching the animals , taking pictures. The professionalism of Rhys and his crew was amazing . Thank you for such a once in a lifetime experience. Note: once you are planning the tour with them, you do want to go over what are your preferences when it comes to food, (breakfast/lunch/dinner) so they can be prepare like they were prepare for us.
Response from the operator: Hello Jose. Thank you for taking the time to rewrite your review—it means a lot to us! I'm thrilled you had such a comprehensive and enjoyable experience, from the informative drive to Kruger to the early morning safaris and delicious meals. It's always our goal to make our guests feel relaxed and well taken care of. We'd love to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Johannesburg.
How much does 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg cost?
+
Prices start at $28500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Johannesburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Johannesburg is not rushed.
Is 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Johannesburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Johannesburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Johannesburg and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4-Day Kruger National Park Safari from Johannesburg start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Johannesburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Johannesburg?
+
On Outty we rank every Johannesburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soweto and Johannesburg Exclusive Full Day Guided Tour, Full Day Ultimate Pilanesberg National Park Safari from Johannesburg or Pretoria, Half-Day Tour of Soweto Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Johannesburg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Johannesburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
