We like to call this our best value tour since you get a whole lot of bang for your buck! On this safari tour, you will be observing the Big 5 (lion, leopard, Cape Buffalo, rhino and elephant) as well as a host of antelope, birdlife and amphibians, and be inspired by an authentically African atmosphere in the largest game reserve in South Africa. Kruger National Park is larger than some small countries in Europe and is just less than two million hectares of conservation area. Add to this a full day tour of the Panorama Route which includes, amongst others, the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Lisbon and Berlin Falls. Perfection! On this Safari, you will enjoy comfortable accommodation in a private lodge, awesome game drives and beautiful scenery. Because of the well-trained guides, we are proud to offer an 80% Big 5 success rate on our game drives. All guides are FGASA (Field Guides Association of SA) registered. Your base will be a lodge just outside Hazyview.

    Do not book

Do not book. Caution!!!! Horrible experience. I used Viator to book this trip and received a message from The Mzansi Experience. From the start, the communication and service were poor. It was disorganized and far below expectations. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone looking for a smooth and enjoyable trip.

Response from the operator: Hi Francisco, We regret getting a review of this kind. As we never received any complaint or indication that you were unhappy with anything whatsoever, we were not afforded the opportunity to rectify anything you were unhappy with while on your safari with us. We respond on Viator within a few hours of your booking request (11 Aug 2025), and you provided us with your email address to send further documentation. We then emailed you these forms to you the same day. We received the forms back from you on 12 August 2025. We sent the confirmation docs to you on 13 August 2025. The only delay was the sending of the shuttle confirmation voucher, as we waited for the shuttle company to provide the reference number. But this was also sent more than 12 days in advance (30 Sept 2025) before your arrival date (11 Oct 2025). On our document we have our email address and emergency WhatsApp number should you need us while on safari. At no time we received any questions from you indicating that you did not have enough information, or felt unhappy with the information provided. We also checked with the lodge reception and staff, and there were no issues or complaints mentioned to them. In conclusion - we simply had no idea there was any issue whatsoever. In our Terms and Conditions is clearly states that if a problem is not reported to us while on tour, we cannot take action to solve the problem communicated to us. We reached out to you on email for further information, and your complaints had no relevance to the initial review posted on here. Which means the problem was not communication from Mzansi Experience? We will be further engaging for proof regarding certain claims made. Thank you.

    Unforgettable!

Fantastic safari and experience. The transfer to and from OR Tambo airport was seamless and easy. Driver was friendly and accommodating of people's requests for stops along the way. Kruger Lodge, the accommodation, was lovely. Big huts, swimming pool and a nice simple menu catering for all. Lovely friendly staff at the Lodge. And the safari.... Absolutely wonderful! Saw the big 4 (minus rhino) but got to see rhino's at a service station stop! And the panorama route... Absolutely breathtaking! My 2nd time doing this experience and would do it again!

Good but tiring. Great value for money.

The tour was great value it included bed Breakfast and dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful at Kruger Safari lodge. The cottage we styaed in was older style rodavel. It was dated however the bathroom beds and servicingg were good. Meals were plain . There were boxed breakfasts for our Safaril drives in a packed box. The drawbacks were the long day Safari drive. Starting at 530 am and going to 4.00pm These were long and tiring especially if you had flown a long international flight. I suggest you take a couple of days to recover before taking the tour. The safari vehicles are noy easily accesed, noisy cold in the mornings and the long day is tiring. The experince of seeing the animals makes up for The lodge is generally older style The value is there if you do not mind a liitle inconvenience The drive to the lodge from O Tambo is 5 hours. A budget friendly tour.

    Great Experience

The trip was well-organised and all ran according to plan. The accommodation and food was excellent, and the safaris were an amazing experience. The Panorama tour was also excellent, even if the weather didn't cooperate.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the great review and we are extremely happy that you had such a great time on tour!

Some of the best days of my life

I loved the tour! I would advice that for the Panorama route, if it rains the night before or the same day don't waste your day because everything will be foggy and you won't see a thing, you can talk with the reception of the lodge (adventure lodge) and ask them to go on a full day safari instead. I paid for an extra night safari and the morning safari on the last day, both affordable and thrilling. This is one of the experiences that bring tears to your eyes, seeing the African animals roaming free it's just indescribable. The only issue that I had was the rudeness of one of the waitresses at the lodge as she apparently didn't like her job. But the rest was just perfect, 100% recommended!

4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Johannesburg.

How much does 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,047 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Johannesburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Johannesburg is not rushed.

Is 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Johannesburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Johannesburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Johannesburg and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Johannesburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Johannesburg?

    +

On Outty we rank every Johannesburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soweto and Johannesburg Exclusive Full Day Guided Tour, Ultimate Johannesburg Soweto Experience with Apartheid Museum, Full Day Ultimate Pilanesberg National Park Safari from Johannesburg or Pretoria. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Johannesburg?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Johannesburg?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari?

    +

Included: All Game Drives as per itinerary; Coffee and/or Tea; National Park fees; 3 nights accommodation; and Dinner. Not included: Alcoholic drinks (available to purchase); Lunch; and Optional Morning Game Drive on Day 4. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

What languages is 4 Day Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari offered in?

    +

    +
