Could have been a great vacation, but was not.

Too much tim spent in transit, and waiting for the the next activity to begin. Our guide did NOT have good knowldge of Italy. He had only top-level knowldge of the attractions we saw, not an in-depth knowledge. Several major delays with our specialty, mini-tour guides resulted in long waits, and then rushed visits through the attractions we wanted to see. The last two of the hotels were very nice, but the first one was well below expectations. On the last day, we had to wait until almost 11 am to meet up with another tour group, wasting almost the entire morning, changing vehicles and tour guides. We ended up with three tour company employees all talking beteen themselves in the front, and all of us sitting in the back, unable to hear anything. When we split up into the seperate tours again, we were crammed into the replacement vehicle (a very small sedan/crossover SUV) with no leg room, with two tour-company employees in the front, continually talking amongst themselves.

Response from the operator: Dear Casimer, thanks you for your feedback regarding your recent tour. We are glad you enjoyed the places and most hotels but we apologize that some details did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments as they help us improve our services. We hope to have the chance to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Great Tour if you’re interested in beautiful lakes

Our guide was Silvia and she did an outstanding job. We were a group of 13 Spanish speakers and 5 English speakers. It must have been exhausting for her keeping up the dialogue. All of the lakes were gorgeous and we had boat rides on all but Lake Iseo which would have been nice, non the less a very full program. A word of warning. Lake Orta has a lot of stairs down to the lake. The day we were there a lady on another tour was being resuscitated by ambulance crew after climbing back up to the top and it did not look good for her, I only hope she made it. The only thing letting the tour down in our opinion was the accommodation. Having said that we did not do the luxury tour. In particular the first hotel in Como was a bit of a disaster. Why you would accommodate 2 old ladies (+70y.o.) in a room where there are about 15 stairs to climb just to get to the bathroom is beyond comprehension. When we enquired about changing the room the fellow on the desk claimed there were no other rooms available which seemed highly unlikely. Luckily there was no disaster but we were very unhappy and it was fortunate that it was only 1 night. The breakfasts at all 3 hotels were very good. The fact there was no porterage was not a problem. We enjoyed our local guide in Verona, Bernadetta? showing us her city.

Response from the operator: Dear Valerie, we are happy you have enjoyed the tour but very sorry for the room you had at the hotel in Como that could have compomised your stay. For sure, we are going to check with the hotel demanding an explanation and the reason of this fact. Of course, we would be very happy to see you again in anyone of our tours. Warm regards from Italy!

A good idea of the Italian lakes and Verona in 4 days

You have a good introduction to the Italian lakes with cruises on 4 of them! The easy drives between the lakes, the well located hotels ( I chose the option luxury), the guide Gustavo who was excellent driver, very professional and always helpful made the tour an enjoyable and relaxing experience. It helped a lot to have almost always blue skies 😎! I recommend this tour for anyone who doesn’ t have much time but wants to have the “flavor” of the lakes!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback, we are very happy you enjoyed the tour! Hope to see you again in another one of our tours. Warm regards, G.

    Italian Lakes

Great tour women. DeiDei was a great , kind and thoughtful person. She spoke both Spanish and English on the tour and was very knowledgeable. We also had a separate tour guide on the local ferry and she told us about the different villas. We saw many beautiful lakes on this tour in a short amount of time. I would of liked to have had more time to visit one of the Italian villas but I really enjoyed the tour.

A great tour to take to see 5 beautiful Italian Lakes and the historic towns in the region in just 4 days.

This is an excellent tour to take to see 5 beautiful Italian Lakes and the historic towns in the region in just 4 days. I was in a small group of seven and was pleased to have upgraded to ‘Luxury’ for the better hotels. My only criticism was the ambivalence of the driver/guide. His driving was steady and we kept to schedule but he made no effort to introduce himself, he showed no interest in us as his clients, gave us no information about our daily itinerary or any explanation about the places we visited.. In contrast, we had a wonderful local guide in Verona.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.

How much does 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan cost?

    +

Prices start at $1954 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan take?

    +

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.

Is 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4-Day Italian Lakes Tour from Milan start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Milan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Milan: Pasta and Tiramisu Small Group Cooking Class with Wine, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Milan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Milan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
