Unforgettable experience with Amanya and Bamboo Ecotours
I cannot recommend this experience enough. My driver/guide Amanya was very knowledgeable, helpful, and fun to be around. He gave me the lay of the land as we drove 5ish hours (including the boarder crossing) to the Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge. My room at the lodge opened onto a deck with the most incredible views (not to mention blue monkeys hanging out in the nearby trees/sometimes on the deck). The trek itself was indescribable. It was incredible to be in such close proximity with a family of gorillas. We trekked for roughly 1.5 hours to the gorillas and then maybe 40 minutes out of the park after our hour with them. Edison with Bamboo promptly answered any questions I had prior to and after the trek. 10/10 would recommend.

Awesome Awesome Awesome
From the moment I booked with Bamboo Eco Tours, the experience was first class. Edison was incredibly responsive, answered every question quickly, and made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. Once on the ground, my guide Darius was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. He went above and beyond every single day to make sure the tour was seamless, safe, and unforgettable. Gorilla trekking was beyond anything I imagined — standing just feet away from a silverback in the wild was emotional and powerful. The lodge was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, making the whole experience even more special. Every detail was handled professionally, yet it still felt personal and authentic. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat. If you’re considering it, I highly recommend Bamboo Eco Tours — and especially Darius.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your safari experience. We’re so happy to hear that you had an awesome trip with Bamboo Ecotours. Thank you for recommending Bamboo Ecotours. ~Edison & Team

Fabulous tour company. Excellent employees!
Looking for a tour company to plan a gorilla trek? I can't say enough great things about this company and its employees. I used Edwin, the general manager, as my contact. He was prompt and specific with all emails and provided excellent care both before and during the tour. He obtained our trek permits well in advance to guarantee our desired dates. My friend and I (just the two of us) were provided a private driver from the airport in Kisoro to the lodge, then throughout our treks and back to the airport -- basically at our solo service for four days! Eric, our driver, was so kind and attentive. He stopped anytime we asked: in search of an ATM, to take great mountain-view photos, for a shop stop..... Edwin suggested the lodge we chose and it was 5 stars plus plus plus. This is definitely the company with outstanding service and attention to detail. PS -- gorilla trekking was the experience of a lifetime!!
Response from the operator: We are honoured by your trust and pleased to know you had an amazing safari experience. Thank you for recommending Bamboo Ecotours. ~Edison and Team

One thing we loved about the gorilla trekking, besides the gorillas themselves, is that it wasn’t crowded.
Bamboo Ecotours exceeded our expectations during our tour. From the very beginning, when planning our trip, Edison responded to our emails promptly. He also showed us the different accommodation options they offer and was very helpful with the visa process, staying in constant contact via WhatsApp and email. A week before our trip, Edison shared the name of our tour guide, which made us feel safe and prepared. Jackson, our guide, was the best we could have asked for. We arrived at Kigali airport and drove all the way to Uganda for our first stay. Along the way, Jackson pointed out many interesting insights about Kigali, and we even had a coffee stop (by the way, you have to try African coffee!). On our second day, Jackson took us to Bwindi National Park, where we met our trekking group. One thing we loved about the gorilla trekking, besides the gorillas themselves, is that it wasn’t crowded. Groups are split between 8 to 10 people, and each group visits a different gorilla family. This way, the gorillas don’t experience too much human interaction, and the experience feels more personal. From the moment you see your first gorilla, the one-hour time limit begins. We were accompanied by the guide, two park rangers, and there’s also an option to hire someone to help carry your belongings. After this, we went to our next hotel (which had incredible views of Lake Buyonyi) and enjoyed an amazing night. I just want to take a moment to thank both Jackson and Edison from Bamboo Ecotours for giving us the best experience.
Response from the operator: We appreciate you taking the time to share this amazing tour experience and leaving us a review. This means a lot to Bamboo Ecotours. Thank you for supporting us. Edison and Team

3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kampala.
How much does 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda cost?
+
Prices start at $3,765 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kampala usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kampala is not rushed.
Is 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Kampala, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kampala can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kampala and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Luxury Safari in Uganda start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kampala within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kampala?
+
On Outty we rank every Kampala experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kampala’s Best Experience walking tour, Kampala Walking City Tours (Women-Guided), Kampala Heart of Walking Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kampala?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kampala?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
