    Amazing experience!

Christian is a highly knowledgeable and very friendly guide! He took us through some of the most beautiful parts of Arizona I’ve ever experienced while ensuring our safety. Would highly recommend Backpack Arizona for great conversation and an awesome adventure while enjoying some beautiful AZ views.

    Spectacular!!!!!!!!

Christian was amazing with outfitting us with the appropriate gear and guiding us to some of the most beautiful areas I have ever seen. He was fun to talk to and was very easygoing. I can tell how much he loves sharing special places with people who appreciate it. Beginners, Christian is the best option to make sure your backpacking experience is pleasurable. Experienced backpackers, I would still recommend going with Christian. You will learn something from him and will be taken to a place that is only found after a heavy amount of scouting trips and google earth scrolling. 10/10

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind review! We had a blast backpacking with you. See you on the trail!

    An unforgettable adventure!

Christian is an amazing guide. I was a little nervous at first to go by myself, but the conversation was so engaging it felt like the days flew by. Christian took the time to learn about my experience and some health limitations I'm experiencing, and customized my itinerary to both fit my needs and offer a breathtaking experience of Arizona I never could have achieved any other way. After he got to know me he offered me the freedom to encounter challenges and face them at my experience level. I was able to learn so many things and do them myself, but had Christian there to back me up and make sure I was safe. I can't wait to go again.

Response from the operator: Wow! Thank you so much for the kind review, Ashley! We had a blast backpacking with you. See you on the trail!

A wild experience of a lifetime!

Christian was such a thoughtful and intrepid guide! I couldn't believe what was before my eyes as we descended into this magnificent canyon. Our hike was adventurous and wild, each corner was a new awe inspiring sight to behold. The camping spot itself was well chosen. Christian ensured I had everything I needed, setup was easy and I wasn't missing a thing. The food is surprisingly delicious! During the day we had so much fun hiking, swimming and fishing. It was such a relief to be so far away from humanity, in this special oasis. I fell asleep to the sounds of the natural creek and crackling fire. Truly this is a lifetime memory. If you are on the fence, let me tell you it's worth it, take the plunge. These vistas and this feeling of being truly wild will ignite your soul. These are the kinds of experiences that make a life well lived.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the thoughtful review, Kim! It was a pleasure taking you on our Mogollon Rim adventure. We’ll see you on the trail!

    Great wilderness adventure!

Great experience! Great guide! Christian was flexible and tailored a wilderness experience around exactly what I was interested in. He made the logistics easy and has the right vehicle to access hard to reach destinations. I appreciated his laid-back approach and enthusiasm for the outdoors. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the great review, Jay! We had a lot of fun customizing a trip around your interests. We’ll see you on the trail!

3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome!: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phoenix.

How much does 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome! cost?

    +

Prices start at $523 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phoenix usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome! take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phoenix is not rushed.

Is 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome! worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phoenix, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome!?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome! suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome!?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phoenix can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phoenix and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3-Day Backpacking Trek on the Mogollon Rim - Beginners Welcome! start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phoenix within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phoenix?

    +

Phoenix runs on desert experiences: sunrise hot air balloon lifts over the Sonoran, Camelback and South Mountain hikes, off-road Tonto Forest tours and day trips to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Heat safety and start times decide whether a tour is good, so we weight timing detail in the ranking. On Outty we rank every Phoenix experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayaking the Salt River Foxtail Trip, Small-Group or Private Grand Canyon with Sedona Tour from Phoenix, Grand Canyon with Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon Van Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phoenix?

    +

November to April. Summer tours run at dawn or not at all. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phoenix?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
