Great experience but long walk
It’s a long walk to where you meet the pick up van. The tour guide and photographer that came along with us were great! Highly recommend!

Monkey house was nice....
Monkey house was nice. the people and monkeys were great. the waterfall part is not a low activity excursion. its 35+ min, mostly uphill hike (in pool shoes). water was not available and we didnt bring any because it said it was provided. we also had a 20-25 min walk back that we didnt know about. it did rain(not anyones fault) and may have got cut short,,, not sure though.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very happy to hear you enjoyed Monkey House and that you had a great experience with both the staff and the monkeys. We’re sorry the waterfall hike was more challenging than you expected. The trail does include approximately a 35–40 minute hike with some uphill sections, and we understand that this may not be suitable for everyone. We appreciate your comments, as they help us improve how we describe the activity so future guests know what to expect. We also sincerely apologize about the water. Drinking water is normally available, and we’ll review what happened that day to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Regarding the return walk, we’ll make sure our guides explain the full route more clearly during the tour briefing. Unfortunately, the rain was beyond our control, but our team always prioritizes guest safety whenever weather conditions change. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on another adventure in the future!

Awesome ! Super friendly & fun adventure
Wow this was awesome! Not sure if it’s like this all the time but this included a private ride. It was just me and my partner in the transportation vehicle. Every single person we came in contact with was super friendly! It was pouring down raining during the waterfall so I stayed behind at the restaurant while my partner went to the falls. While waiting there was a bar and ALL the staff were friendly. This excursion even came with lunch! At the monkey sanctuary we tried authentic chocolate, local coffee, and the local hot chocolate! The monkeys were super cute and friendly. Which was a large portion. Our driver even stopped by a local fruit stall where we had the most delicious mango I’ve ever had in my life!!!!! Our driver didn’t speak much English but we used the translation app which made conversation easy. Our driver was genuinely a good person and was very patient ( we were running late). I highly recommend this tour! Thank you for an amazing visit to Puerto Plata ! We will be back

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.
How much does 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.
Is 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2x1: Puerto Plata MonkeyLand and Waterfalls Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
