Much better than we expected!
This was actually so much better than we were expecting. At first, we were reluctant to fork over the dough, knowing that the great Salt Lake has some flies and a funny odor at the shore. We met our captain at the state park and they loaded us up on a really nice, newer pontoon boat. They had bottles of water and a shaded canopy on the boat. As soon as you get away from the shore, everything becomes beautiful and fresh. Our Captain was so personable, fun and knowledgeable. He really made the trip. He answered all of our questions and made sure that we all had a great time. We went about 2 miles out and floated for a while. Then, he took us to some shoals and sandbars that were slightly offshore. We found a pocket of clay to put on our skin and found relics from the past. He showed us the different minerals that are visible in the lake. Everybody on our cruise tipped well because it was such a great experience. We are already planning to take some friends back for the sunset tour.

Fun Day with Jake – Out on the (Great Salt) Lake!
We had a great time with Jake our boat captain/tour guide Jake Hardman out on The Great Salt Lake in Utah Jake was knowledgeable and experienced, having grown up in the area, and we really enjoyed hearing his stories and his very easy-going personality. He pretty much catered the tour to us and answered all our questions – we really enjoyed it. Great job, Jake!

Floating Fun!
We had such an amazing time! Tyler was a great guide. We had the whole lake to ourselves! So much fun floating and relaxing and seeing The Great Salt Lake from an awesome pontoon boat. Highly recommend, don't hesitate...just book it!

Fun unique experience!
If you are considering this 2-hour boat tour, definitely book it! My husband and I loved the unique experience of swimming in the Great Salt Lake. It is very fun and completely stress-free—you don't even need to know how to swim since the lake's high salinity makes you float automatically. Our guide, Tyler, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the lake and area, and he was more than happy to take photos for us while we were swimming. Highly recommend!

2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salt Lake City.
How much does 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake cost?
+
Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salt Lake City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salt Lake City is not rushed.
Is 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 320 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salt Lake City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake?
+
Around 112 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salt Lake City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salt Lake City and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2 Hour Salt Lake Boat Tour with Swimming on the Lake start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salt Lake City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Salt Lake City?
+
Salt Lake City is a basecamp: Big and Little Cottonwood canyon hikes and ski shuttles, Antelope Island and Great Salt Lake trips, Park City transfers and Temple Square walking tours. Winter transfer reliability is the single biggest quality signal here. On Outty we rank every Salt Lake City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Salt Lake City Guided Bus Tour, Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square & Salt Lake City Bus Tour, Great Salt Lake Safari - Discover Antelope Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Salt Lake City?
+
December to March for skiing, June to September for canyon hiking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Salt Lake City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
