About this experience
Sail Tahoe Blue is the premier sailing charter in South Lake Tahoe. We offer a unique sailing adventure and include complementary local beer and wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverages on all of our daily cruises. Unlike other tour boats which take 50+ passengers, our sailing yacht, "Blue", limits our capacity to 18 passengers. If you care to enjoy the beauty of propulsion by Mother Nature without the sound and smell of an engine, come sail with us! Sail Tahoe Blue cruises focus on sailing and sharing the beauty of Lake Tahoe, we do not offer guided tours. Please note that we will be sailing and that the sailboat is powered by the wind, so our route is wind dependent. We do not sail to Emerald Bay on our public charters, as it is too far of a distance to sail in two hours. Ages 5 and up only.

Relaxing and refreshing We had wonderful time with stunning w
Great time with an experienced sailor. The surrounding views are spectacular. Our guide was informative and friendly. They offer various beverages. We were invited to sit anywhere on the sail boat . I’d bring a light jacket . You may or may not need it. And sunblock is a must. Especially on the face. Take lots of pictures 🤗

Fun and safe sailing
This was a great event beginning to end. Easy to book online, simple to check-in with clearly marked location at the marina. The two person Captain / crew anticipated every need while sailing - they provided beverages, excellent information about the lake, and maintained proper safety measures throughout the trip. With reasonable pricing, solid technology that enabled efficient planning, a great staff / crew, this was a wonderful activity.

Safe and enjoyable sailing
This was an excellent sailing experience. The marina is very close to the major hotels - we're staying at the Margaritaville hotel and we were able to walk to the marina, just over a mile. When we arrived, the meeting spot was clearly marked, we filled out our legal release form which was very quick and easy, and off we were headed north on the lake. The crew of two sailing professionals did an excellent job of making us feel safe and secure, which to me was a primary issue. As far as comfort, we work quickly seated in comfortable seats along the back of the boat, and we were offered beverages - some had wine or beer, they also had water available. This trip goes in whatever direction the wind blows for a maximized experience. We all enjoyed a lot of banter, albeit not a whole lot of information about the lake...we did learn about the lake depth and saw some landmarks. The real fun however was just enjoying being out on the lake. Overall, this was a great way to kick off our trip to Lake Tahoe.

Perfect in every way. Registering was easy. Finding them was easy. The captains were phenomenal and so kind. It sure didn't hurt that the weather was amazing! I would book with them again and again.

2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Tahoe.
How much does 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Tahoe usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Tahoe is not rushed.
Is 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,002 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lake Tahoe, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe?
+
Around 351 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Tahoe can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Tahoe and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2 Hour Sailing Cruise on Lake Tahoe start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Tahoe within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Tahoe?
+
Tahoe splits by season: summer brings boat cruises, kayaking at Emerald Bay, parasailing and Flume Trail rides, while winter brings snowmobiles, snowshoe treks and ski shuttles. Pickup points around the lake are far apart, so meeting logistics matter. On Outty we rank every Lake Tahoe experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tahoe Coastal Self-Guided E-Bike Tour(2–4 hrs) | East Shore Trail, Yosemite Grand Adventure - day tour from S. Lake Tahoe, "Lake Tahoe 101" : See The Whole Lake! 6 HR Shared Tour by Van.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Tahoe?
+
June to September for water, December to March for snow. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Tahoe?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
