This short overnight tour is a great chance to get out of the capital and see some wildlife in the Awash National Park – located 225 km east of Addis Ababa. The park, which takes its name from the Awash River, covers an area of 827 square kilometers and stretches around 30km east to west and a little less from north to south. Tigray Rock-Hewn Churches
Travelling to the Danakil Depression with Ethio Travel and Tours (ETT) was easily one of the most surreal experiences of my life! From exploring Dallol’s glowing green acid pools to watching the salt caravans at Lake Assale, ETT handled every aspect of the logistics seamlessly. The 4x4 drivers were true professionals, especially on the challenging terrain. The food prepared by our desert chef was surprisingly delicious, and our guide went above and beyond to keep us safe and comfortable in the extreme heat. It was truly a bucket-list experience, executed perfectly. We also met fellow travellers who had originally booked with other companies but were later transferred to ETT. We were told that ETT is the only tour operator with permanent bases in both Mekele and Semera. Before booking, I recommend contacting Ethio Travel and Tours directly to ask about their prices for both group and private tours.

Awash Park
Mr Yeab and Mr Kiros were a great company as well as the guides. Awash park is amazing - highly recommended. Few animals spotted. Remember about the insects spray as there are many mosquitoes at doho lodge.

Very good experience
I had the pleasure of visiting the awash park while staying at the doho lodge where they had multiple hot springs and wild animals living nearby: monkeys, crocodiles and even ostriches! The guides (eyob and tekeste) were very informative and professional, i highly recommend booking this tour if you like beautiful landscapes and wildlife

I do not recommend, except if you want to see some specific species
The Awash National Park has been closed for two years for security concerns (or so the guide said), so the first drive was cancelled. The advertisement is a lie. In addition, the guide was late, tried to drop me at a crappy motel and not the one advertised, did not wake up at the time planned in the morning, kept making things up, and shortened the schedule on the way back. The drive in the second national park was good, for people who are not interested in the main typical species but want to see Ethiopian ones.

Good Driver, also the guide, driver english is good, sevice from both were excellent. The national Park is in comparison with parks in other countries not the best (amount of animals)
