Just perfect.
We were on the 2 day rainbow mountain trip and it was from start to finish just a perfect experience - and one of the best things about it was our guide Edwin Salas Huillca; not just a knowledgable and very nice person, but a truly inspiring human being.

Unforgettable Journey to Ausangate Pass and Rainbow Mountain
My husband and I had an amazing experience trekking to Ausangate Mountain Pass and Rainbow Mountain. The views were absolutely stunning, with breathtaking landscapes at every turn. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also friendly and accommodating, making us feel like part of the family. The entire staff was welcoming and ensured our comfort throughout the journey. It was a little bit challenging but rewarding trek, and we highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore Peru's natural beauty.

An excellent two day adventure
Gio, Adriel, Celso and Fidel took excellent care of us on this intensive two day adventure. If you are short on time, this is incredible bang for your buck in terms of exploration, beauty, and depth of experience in a short amount of time. DO follow packing instructions! I almost didn’t bring gloves and that would have been a huge mistake. It’s rugged out there. We got to Rainbow Mountain before the crowds (it was an aggressive AM itinerary, but worth it), and had a super magical half hour to ourselves with the sun and the glittering frost. Gio did a great job documenting our trip with photos. Food was great. This is not an outing for the faint of heart or those lacking in fitness (and patience!). I am relatively fit and my friend is super fit, and it was a real mental game to overcome the altitude. I have never walked so slow in my life. But, just take it one step at a time, big picture it was all worth it.

Highly recommend! Ask for Bernie as your guide!
The 2 day trek to rainbow mountain was amazing! It was great to see this terrain compared to the Sakantay trek we did before. Well worth adding this to our itinerary. The mountain ranges were so colorful and beautiful. It was great to be on the mountain before anyone else and well worth taking the journey. Our guide Bernie was remarkable! He was so much fun, took great care of us, tended to all of your needs even when I had a medical concern. He provided cultural and historical education which made the journey even more valuable. He helped us get all of the good pictures at rainbow mountain which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend taking this trek with Bernie! He made the trip even more amazing! The food was soooo good! It was prepared well, on time, warm and was delicious! We never got sick and always had clean water for us. They also provided tea time which was a sweet thing. The accommodations were a cozy tent that they had set up for us with a nice warm sleeping bag, pillow and blankets so we were very comfortable on a chilly night. Our bags were always on time and where they needed to be. The driver was safe and great!

Excellent route, accommodation and service. Would recommend!
Bernie was an excellent guide, came to visit the hotel the night before for the trip to give the duffel bag and get all the information that we needed. Bernie was an excellent guide from start to finish

2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps cost?
+
Prices start at $475 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 93 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps?
+
Around 33 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2-Day Trek to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco with Exclusive Mountain Camps start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
