Trip of a lifetime !!

Trip of a lifetime from start to finish. Three glorious days of riding and 2 nights at the stunning sundance lodge. From start to finish it was amazing. The scenery / trail / rivers were all breathtaking, the horses are stunning and so sure footed over mountain tracks. All staff were amazing, Gen our guide, Jared and Riley ranch cowboys looked after horses and mules (and us) and the amazing hosts / cooks at the lodge Megan and others, all so lovely great company and looked after us so well. We were in a group of 6, all apart from my husband were experienced riders, all like minded lovely people who appreciated the trip of a lifetime It was perfect in every way. Thank you

Highlight of our trip - highly recommend!!

The experience my family had at Banff Trail Riders was probably the highlight of our trip. Everyone was really well looked after and it really felt like a premium experience. On day 1 we they got us quickly and safely on the horses and we were off. I was at the front and got chatting to our guide Jen for the first leg which was really lovely. We stopped for lunch where we treated to fresh drinks, snacks and even some steak. All of the guides and people we interacted with were friendly and kind. At the end of day 1 we were greeted by a beautiful ranch in the middle of the mountains. It was a stunning place with nice amenities. We were treated to another delicious meal before we had the opportunity to learn some lassoing, feed the horses and have some marshmallow round a fireplace. On Day 2 we set off and had a picturesque return back to the stables, we could not have asked for better weather and conditions and the horses got us all back in one piece. A massive thank you to our two guides, Jen and Harley, who were incredibly, insightful, supportive and genuinely helpful. They really made the experience second-to-none and we can't thank them enough. The other people in our group were also very friendly and it was great to get to know them. This is a must-do when in Banff and we cannot recommend Banff Trail Riders enough. Thank you Jen and Harley!!

What a fantastic trip!

My friend & I took the Sundance Lodge Overnight Stay on Horseback in June. What a fabulous adventure. It was so relaxing, the horses were great & very well taken care of. All of the staff at the ranch, the guides (Jen & Harley) for the trail ride & staff at the lodge were very friendly, caring & accommodating. We thoroughly loved riding the horses, stopping for lunch on the way there & back along the flowing river relaxing while our guides Jen & Harley prepared lunch on an open fire along with great tasting cowboy coffee! The meals at the lodge were delicious & had plenty for everyone. Everything was well organized... It was Top Notch!! We highly recommend it & we would do it all over again. Thanks you Banff Trail Riders :>)W

Great Outdoor Adventure

The trail guides & support staff did a tremendous job throughout the entire trip. We were blessed to have great weather both days. The lodge was comfortable and the food on both the trail and at the lodge was very good.

Honeymoon Bliss!

This was the most amazing experience! Everyone on staff was amazing and so friendly and knowledgable. The food was great and the accommodations were terrific! We saw the most gorgeous scenery and met some great new friends. This was the start to our honeymoon and it set the bar high for the rest of the trip. Well worth every penny!!!

2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Banff.

How much does 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback cost?

+

Prices start at $1017 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Banff usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback take?

+

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Banff is not rushed.

Is 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Banff, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 9. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 48-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Banff can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Banff and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2-Day Sundance Overnight Backcountry Lodge Trip by Horseback start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Banff within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Banff?

+

On Outty we rank every Banff experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and the Icefields Parkway Full-Day Tour, Hop-On and Hop-Off Banff Bus, ShuttleBus 2way Banff to Lake Louise (1Hr) and Moraine Lake (1Hr). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Banff?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Banff?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
