2 day bridge over river kwai trip

The whole trip was amazing from start to finish, we were picked up at Bangkok hotel and transferred to a main coach to take us to Kanchanaburi ,lunch, war museum and cemetery then the bridge on the river kwai 😎transferred by Ute and long tail boat to resotel a beautiful little place in the jungle ,dinner there ,breakfast a visit to the Mon tribe Village then off,by boat, car to hellfire pass (quite a moving experience) then back to Bangkok. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, our guide was so lovely but unfortunately cannot remember his name (he had a broken stomach, his words 😊) One thing I have to say is that We knew what we wanted to see,I researched and this was the trip we wanted, but the reviews were practically non existent,so was quite apprehensive about the whole thing, but it was the best time, things did sometimes get confusing and lost in translation but watching the transportation of lots of people on different itineraries all worked perfectly and pretty impressive……just do it,you won’t regret it 🥰

Response from the operator: Dear Jackie B, Thank you so much for this wonderful 5-star review! We are absolutely thrilled that your 2-day River Kwai adventure was 'amazing from start to finish.' It is completely natural to feel a little apprehensive when booking a trip with fewer reviews, so we truly appreciate you taking the leap with iAsia Thailand. We are so glad that the logistics—from the long-tail boat to the jungle stay at Resotel—worked perfectly for you. I will certainly find out which of our guides had the 'broken stomach' that day and pass on your kind words; he will be delighted to know he made your trip so memorable! Thank you for the 'just do it' recommendation to fellow travelers. Best regards, Nick (IAsia Thailand Online)

Great experience by the River Quai

I can recommend this tour. It was a great experience. The tour guides spoke english and were very knowledgeable. Viator's description of the tour was followed. I can also recommend the beautiful resort “Resotel“ which provided good service and food. The rooms are in very nice bungalows surrounded by trees.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your recommendation! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the 2-Day River Kwai adventure and that our guides provided the knowledgeable service we strive for. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed the unique atmosphere and hospitality at the Resotel—those jungle bungalows are truly special! We appreciate you confirming that the tour followed the description perfectly, as we want all our guests to feel confident when booking with us. Thanks, Nick (IAsia Thailand Online)

    Outstanding!!!

This was one of the most moving trips we have ever had. We visited the Memorial Gardens and the museum at the start of the trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and sensitive, giving everyone time to themselves to walk around and take in the surroundings. We walked across the Kwai bridge to take photos before having a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant. We then changed guides, Ka/Ha was his name. What an amazing attentive guide taking us to Hellfire pass, extremely knowledgeable and, we later found out that he taught himself English whilst working in the Kwai Resotel restaurant. His English is brilliant and extensive. His care continued, ensuring we got in and out of the, very low, long boats without incident. Our stay at the Kwai Resotel was sublime, a beautiful room, very attentive staff, good food and a great dance display by some of the hotel workers and their families from the Mon Tribe. The following day Ka/Ha took us to one of the Mon Tribe villages, telling us about their history. After another short trip in a long boat, we said goodbye to Ka/Ha, one of the best guides we have ever had. Following our ride on the death railway, great scenery, we had a super lunch. Our return trip was long, made longer by the Bangkok traffic. We also had a glitch with our drop off point, but thus far we can’t determine where the fault lay, so we have no hesitation in still giving this trip 5 stars

Response from the operator: Dear Roam2, Thank you so much for your heartfelt and detailed review. We’re truly honored that this journey left such a lasting impression on you. It’s wonderful to hear how much you appreciated the thoughtful pacing, meaningful sites, and the deep knowledge and sensitivity shown by both of your guides. Ka/Ha will be especially thrilled to hear your kind words — his story is inspiring, and we're so proud to have him on the team. We're also glad your stay at Kwai Resotel was a highlight — from the comfort of your room to the warm hospitality and cultural experience with the Mon Tribe. It's always our goal to create meaningful, memorable journeys, and it sounds like this one truly delivered. Thank you again for your kind words and understanding about the drop-off issue. We hope to welcome you on another unforgettable experience in the future. Thanks, Nick (IAsia Thailand Online)

Interesting experience but with a few disappointments.

Booked trip easily through Viatour. Collected from Bangkok on time and all arrangements went very smoothly until our train ride on day 2 and return trip with our guide to Bangkok. The guide who we met at Kanchanaburi restaurant to take us to Resotel was brilliant - friendly, attentive and informative. He was very helpful and caring with us when getting in/out of the longtail boats. On day 2 he was excellent when taking us around the Mon village. We learnt much about village life. His name is Ka (nit sure of spelling). Our guide to and from Bangkok was NOT impressive. His presentation on the bus was poor. It was not helped by bus microphone being distorted. When our Train was delayed on day 2 , he did not keep our group updated as to what was happening. We learnt about the delay from other guides with other groups. Once on the train, he looked at his phone and fell asleep. Other guides were pointing things out, scenery and landmarks. If it hadn’t been for him we would have given this experience 5 * but he he really spoilt the experience and let the company down.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience on the 2-Day/1-Night River Kwai Resotel Tour. We’re delighted to hear that you found the booking process smooth and that most aspects of the trip went well. We truly appreciate your kind words about Ka and are thrilled that he made your journey informative, enjoyable, and comfortable, especially during the longtail boat ride and visit to the Mon village. We’ll be sure to pass along your compliments to him! However, we sincerely regret that your experience with the Bangkok transfer guide did not meet expectations. We take feedback like this very seriously and will review this matter internally to ensure all our guides provide engaging, attentive, and professional service throughout the entire journey. However please do mention this on the day as we like any issues resolved on the spot. We’re sorry that this aspect impacted your overall experience, but we truly appreciate your honesty. Your feedback helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a flawless 5-star experience in the future. Best regards, Nick (IAsia Thailand Online)

Guide is good in explaining the places visited. Needs to pay for water and need to bring own dental kits for the place of stay.

Response from the operator: Dear Teksengy, Thanks for your review and yes guide buys water on the way and for the dental kits, passengers would bring their own usually, Regards, Nick

2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.

How much does 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel cost?

    +

Prices start at $6380 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.

Is 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2-Day River Kwai Adventure with 1-Night Stay at Resotel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bangkok?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bangkok?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
