WONDERFUL
We had a truly unforgettable experience in Tunisia, and much of the credit goes to our guide, Makram, and our driver. From the first moment everything was organized impeccably: they picked us up near Tunis with great punctuality and professionalism, making us feel immediately at ease. The journey to Hammamet and then to the south of the country was not only well managed, but also very pleasant thanks to the company of our driver, always kind, smiling and nice. A really helpful person, who made every move light and fun. Special thanks go to Makram, our guide, who was simply outstanding. He did not limit himself to explaining the places visited with competence and passion, but was always present for any need: attentive, available and ready to help us at all times. He made us discover the history, culture and traditions of the place in an engaging way, making each stage even more significant. The tour was full of emotions: from historic sites such as the magnificent amphitheater of El Djem, to spectacular oases and canyons, to the unique desert experience. Sleeping in the middle of the dunes was something magical, difficult to describe in words: the silence, the starry sky and the authentic atmosphere made everything even more special. We also got to experience authentic moments, such as discovering the local traditions and breathtaking landscapes that Tunisia has to offer. Every detail has been carefully taken care of, and this has really made a difference. We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover Tunisia in an authentic and thoughtless way. With a guide like Makram and such a friendly and helpful driver, the trip becomes something truly unique. Thanks again for these wonderful memories! 🌍✨

Three night, four day private tour of Tunisia.
We contacted this company on short notice for a custom four day , three night private tour during our stay in Tunisia. They were responsive and flexible in the arrangements using What's App. The daily itinerary and prices (in Euros) were sent out quickly. This is a cash only business, so no credit cards could be used for payment. We needed to pull a large amount of cash out of the local ATMs in small bills, which was an inconvenience. The vehicle used was clean and well maintained with good shock absorbers and a strong air conditioner. This was greatly appreciated as there were long driving distances. After our tour of the impressive mosque in Kairovan, we were taken across the street for what was supposed to be a demonstration of the local women's carpet weaving skills. But there was no women, just a room with salesmen trying to sell us carpets. The highlights of the trip were a mesmerizing camel ride into the Sahara Desert and overnight stay in a tent camp. The camp is very basic accommodations, but the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable. We also spent a night in a Berber cave hotel in Cheneni, one of the most unique hotel experiences we have ever had. On the last day of our tour, we visited the amphitheater of El Jem which I thought was much better than the one in Rome. There is also an adjacent museum with an incredible collection of mosaics. Hopefully, you can have a tour guide as knowledgeable and personable as Yassine, who made our visit that much more enjoyable.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr Edward, the entire EXTRA VIRGIN TRAVEL team would like to thank you for the excellent feedback you have shared with us. We are delighted to read that you particularly appreciated the professionalism and kindness of our teams. We make a point of offering our customers a wide variety of services.

Impressive journey through the history and present of the country with long journey times
The tour took us from Tunis far to the south of Tunisia. We had not expected such long distances (almost 1500 km) . Nevertheless, we were fascinated by many points of the varied program. Neither the huge, well-preserved amphitheatre of El Jem nor the desert oases would have been so impressive if we had not booked this tour. The desert camp - designed for up to 120 people - we had almost to ourselves and were very fascinated by the sandbread - which did not taste like sand - which was prepared in the embers. The night in the Bedouin tent was less cold and uncomfortable than we had feared and the starry sky was impressive. We found the salt lake plate less exciting - the groundwater contains a lot of salt and is quite close to the surface under a layer of sand. Except for saline puddles, there was little to see. The tour through the desert oasis of Chebika to the waterfall was very nice due to the few December tourists. In high season, up to tu 1000 tourists a day walk through the oasis, but we had them almost to ourselves. The cave dwellings we could visit filled us with humility. Even today, families live here without electricity, running water and with the fear that rains can simply wash away the dwelling in days. On the way back - several hundred kilometers of country road - one could see the simple living conditions deep in the south of the country experience.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tunis.
How much does 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins cost?
+
Prices start at $310 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tunis usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tunis is not rushed.
Is 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tunis, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 48-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tunis can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tunis and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2 Day Private Desert Adventure to Tunisia Sahara Camp and Ruins start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tunis within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tunis?
+
On Outty we rank every Tunis experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Walking Tour through the Medina of Tunis(Pay what you want), Private tour: Medina,Carthage ,Sidi Bou Said, Bardo Museum+lunch, Private Tour to Kairouan, El Jem & Monastir from Tunis_hammamet. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tunis?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tunis?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
