Starry sky for the 50th birthday
We will never forget this tour with Qatan and his Landruiser "Franky"... Everything was well organized, from the communication by Kate to the implementation by Qatan. Our guide was super nice, experienced, humorous, open and just wholeheartedly involved. On the way to the Rub al-chali we made great stops that brought us even closer to the country and its people, tasted camel meat (also had it for dinner with rice a la Qatan), saw a wolf, admired animals and nature, made fire out of nothing on the dunes, chatted for hours about everything, enjoyed tea and saw a magnificent starry sky. Great photos in a breathtaking setting round it off. The absolute highlight was Sophie's birthday cake (thanks again to everyone and to you Kate.... simply great) in the morning at sunrise + serenade. Keep your unique and family atmosphere. Shukran... and best wishes Bianca and Frank

UNIQUE experience on the dunes
Unexpected wonder even though my expectations were very high. Sunset and sunrise leave sensations that are not describable but absolutely to be experienced. The sand slides between your hands and feet as if it were water, does not stick and is thinner than a powder. And all the waves that form on the dunes..... useless to see them in documentaries: your eyes will be the perfect ones to remember emotions. EXPERIENCE TO DO!!!!! Also excellent dinner offered, with also meat of dromedary. Super comfortable desert tents.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We are more than grateful that you enjoyed the tour with us. We wish you all the best and hope to welcome you soon again. Best regards from Salalah4tourist Team

Exceptional experience and costumer service,- 100% recommended agency and guide ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good morning, We had a wonderful desert experience with Mohammed. It’s incredible how much he knows about the desert environment and how he merge with the desert. It seems that he is part of it. He is also very smart, polite and thoughtful… and treat us like friends not like clients. He really made our trip memorable and unique. Beside of this he is a very good sand driver, we learned a lot and admire his personality. Great guy, we are very lucky to get the chance to meet him. We also would like to point out, that Salalah 4 tourist itself has a very good working customer service and special requests and changes are handelt very reliable and friendly ,- our special thanks to Sophie ( German speaking) and Abdul … you have been so helpful and professional!
Response from the operator: We are so happy to read that you are satisfied with your tour and our service. Happy customers are our main goal and the reason why we love our work. We hope to welcome you again in Salalah and hope you arrived safe at home. A special best regards from the Salalah4tourist Team 😊

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2-Day Overnight Desert Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salalah.
How much does 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $370 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salalah usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salalah is not rushed.
Is 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salalah, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salalah can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salalah and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2-Day Overnight Desert Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salalah within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Salalah?
+
On Outty we rank every Salalah experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include East Salalah Mountain Safari, Wadi Darbat, Beach, Camels, Dunes, Sunset desert safari tour in Salalah(private tour), Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Salalah?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Salalah?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
