False advertising and poor experience - Definitely not a luxury desert camp
We booked a 2-day desert excursion to Zagora from Marrakech, including an overnight stay in what was advertised as a luxury tent with a private bathroom for 2 people. Unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations. The tent we were given was neither luxurious nor clean, and it did not have a private bathroom as promised. We even compared it with other so-called “standard” tents from fellow travelers and found no difference in quality or comfort. The campsite itself seemed poorly maintained - our tent clearly had not been cleaned in a very long time, which was disappointing and unhygienic. While we understand that a desert camp has its limitations, basic standards of cleanliness and organization should still be met. Another unpleasant aspect was the segregation of guests by tent category, which created an uncomfortable and unnecessary division among travelers. It completely ruined the friendly and communal spirit one might expect from such an experience. Finally, the return to Marrakech was unacceptable. Instead of being dropped off at the same meeting point where we were originally picked up, we were left far away in an unfamiliar and unsafe-looking area, with the only advice being to “keep our phones hidden.” This lack of care for guests’ safety is simply unprofessional and irresponsible. Overall, this excursion was a major disappointment. It failed to deliver what was promised and lacked even the most basic standards of hospitality. I strongly advise others to avoid this company until they significantly improve the quality, cleanliness, and safety of their service.

Exhilarating but exhausting
A wonderful experience. The desert is a magical, mystical place. Our driver Hammid was excellent and makes rest and refreshment stops at appropriate intervals. The lunch stop and tour at Aït Ben Haddou, where they have been filming movies like "Lawrence of Arabia" for 75 years, is stunning but a difficult climb. The night at the Berber camp is wonderful, but "luxury" may be too strong a word. Although there is a communal place to charge cellphones, there are no plugs in the tents. Also communal, the showers and bathroom facilities are a short walk from the tents. Pro Tip: Bring a towel!! Finally, camels are beautiful and unearthly creatures, but riding one for an hour at sunset and again for 20 minutes in the morning can be rough on one's lower half. Prepare yourself to be thoroughly exhausted but very happy after two days in the desert!
