The Best, Stress-free Way to do Cork/ South Ireland!!

I had booked the 2 day tour to Cork, Blarney Castle, and Cobh with my sister. We’re two young travellers and we had such an amazing, safe, smooth, and classy experience! We met Paul at the Dublin Train station who travelled with us to Cork and dropped us off at our included stay at Metropole Hotel (absolute class of a stay!!); we got in early in the afternoon and had the rest of the day and evening leisurely to ourselves. Breakfast included at The Met was incredible as well and we were picked up promptly by Dani on a very nice, clean, and comfortable coach bus. Our tour guide John Todd spoke intermittently through our scenic journey from Cork to Blarney Castle about Irish history, culture, and the landscape. It was absolutely lovely and very informative. Arriving at Blarney Castle (every excursion included in our package), we were guided through the historic grounds, kissing Blarney Stone (and our guide John made sure to spare us a long wait time and change by taking photos of us). We had about an hour following the kissing of the stone to explore the beautiful property and grab lunch before heading back on the bus (where we kept our belongings safe and off of our backs-and each row of seats had a usb c and usb port for easy recharge! ) and heading off on a tour through the village before venturing to Cobh. We were absolutely blessed with amazing weather and stopped by the cemetery which provided us a bit of thought on the real lives that paved the way for irish independence. Then we arrived at the port of Cobh where we toured a gorgeous cathedral, were told a really funny bit by Todd, and were informed of the Titanics final port of dock before the tragedy. The time management on the part of Dani and Todd was amazing because we had another spare 1.5hrs to grab dinner and view the waterfront of Cobh. Following that, we met at the coach bus, grabbed our belongings, said our thank you’s and goodbyes to Dani before John helped us journey from Cobh back to Dublin (where I’m currently sat on the train typing my review). I’m truly blown away with our time here, the thoughtful team, and the seamless experience. A million thank yous.

Would look forward to doing it again.

Fantastic tour, moves quickly but our guide Paul O'Neil was terrific moving us ahead in all transportation and ticketing situations. He had great recommendations for food and drink and was meticulous accounting for people, seeing all the sights, and explaining things. All the transfers among rail and coach were taken care of. We didn't have to spend time figuring out the administration of our trip.

Response from the operator: Dear Robert, Thank you for your fantastic review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our 2-day Cork & Blarney Castle tour, and that Paul enhanced the experience! We hope to welcome you back on tour with us soon! Kind regards, The Railtours Ireland Team

    Found the true Ireland

Had an absolutely wonderful 2 day tour of the south just wished I’d booked the 3 day tour. It was a very informative tour with such beautiful scenery along the way. The guide Jonathan went out of his way to show me the true Irish night life and I had a ball. Fabulous tour highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Many thanks for your review and recommendation. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your two day tour with us to Cork, Blarney Castle, Killarney and the Ring of Kerry. Great to hear that you enjoyed the Irish nightlife too :) - it is certainly an experience. Jonathan is a wonderful tour host and I will pass your review onto him, I am sure he will also be delighted to read it. Thanks once again, Kind Regards, Jennifer

2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.

How much does 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin cost?

    +

Prices start at €65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.

Is 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2-Day Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Tour from Dublin start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Dublin?

    +

On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Belfast Titanic Dunluce Castle Giants Causeway Tour, Dublin to Belfast Black Cab: Dunluce Castle and Giant's Causeway, Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Dublin?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Dublin?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
