The Roman Forum was where religious and public life in ancient Rome took place. The Forum is, along with the Colosseum, the greatest sign of the splendour of the Roman Empire that can be seen today. After the fall of the Empire, the Roman Forum was forgotten and little by little it was buried under the earth. Although in the 16th century the existence and location of the Forum was already known, it was not until the 20th century that excavations were carried out. Interestingly, the place where the Forum was built was originally a marshy area. In the 6th century B.C. the area was drained by means of the Cloaca Maxima, one of the first sewer systems in the world. Points of inte

The Best of Rome in Three Days
I highly recommend Rome In Limo for their transfers and tours. I decided to take my granddaughter on her first international trip and Rome was the destination. I used Rome In Limo for a transfer over ten years ago and decided to reach out to them again for help in getting tickets and transport. What a great choice! From the moment I filled out my Rome In Limo online request, I was in Jany’s good hands. She quickly connected with me and was eager and ready to make my trip an exceptional and personal experience. Rome In Limo doesn’t just give you a cookie cutter type of tour. It’s all about you and your preferences. The three day tour I picked was tweaked to accommodate a transfer from the airport and sights were moved around to make the most of our time. They gave us a reputable ticket agent to secure Vatican and Basilica tickets and coordinated the tour timing with our guide. Stefano, our driver for two days couldn’t have been better. He was professional, warm, friendly, flexible and knowledgeable about all the sights and Rome’s history. We had a couple special places we wanted to go to and it was no problem at all. We wanted to go into the pantheon and trevi fountain and needed tickets, Stefano quickly and easily secured our tickets for us taking our stress away! After two days with him we came away feeling like we had been traveling with a good friend not just a tour guide. Guilia our guide for the Vatican and St, Peter’s was just as prompt, knowledgeable, warm and friendly, weaving us through the massive crowds and showing us the most important exhibits. Jany, Stefano and Guilia made our Rome experience exceptional. Whatever we needed was handled quickly and seamlessly. What I really appreciated was the level of communication, Jany was always available to answer and reassure me about any concern or question I had. I never felt alone from the moment I made my first request until our final goodbye. It was an awesome feeling to know the Rome In Limo team truly cared about us and wanted to make our trip special, we weren’t just another customer.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time out of your day to post your comment, I'm glad to know that you had a great time with us! Our goal is to provide excellent services for our clients, it is rewarding to see our efforts recognized in your review. Hope to see you back soon!

RomeInLimo - Viaggio Fantastico!
Let me be clear, this tour company gives A++ service. Absolutely no reservations at all about how well they take care of you. This is absolutely the only company I will use on future visits to Rome and Italy. We first used their services in 2014, when my father-in-law used them for our family vacation to Italy. They were wonderful then, and they are spectacular now. They earn your respect and trust immediately, when following your booking a scheduled phone call from the director helps him guide you through what packages best suit your needs. They are accommodating to special circumstances and individual desires. Communication via email is seamless and always closes the loop. "Jany" who I corresponded with, is an angel from heaven. She guided me through every step, helped us avoid pitfalls, provided invaluable advice on tour visits, restaurants and obtaining tickets to the most sought after venues in the Eternal City. I am truly grateful for her empathy and patience as I organized my family's trip. Nights, weekends or holidays, Jany replied in timely fashion (6hr time difference not withstanding). She is the gold star that shines for Rome in Limo. We booked transfer from the airport to Rome, the 2 Day Rome and Vatican with Guide, transfer to port of Civitavecchia, and Pompeii/Sorrento tours. Pickup and transfers were flawless. Pick up in large Mercedes Van with cold water waiting. They helped with all the luggage and were otherwise exactly what you want going to/from the plane or cruise ship. Day 1 of the Rome 2 Day we were picked up by our driver/guide Piero. I was provided with his phone number, and he was early picking us up. He spoke perfect English. He was able to adjust our tour based on things we had already seen and catered to our desires. Truly, he was wonderful in navigating the chaos of Rome's streets. His Roman accent eloquently described the sites and areas of Rome we visited, providing interesting facts and wonderful anecdotes abut sculptures, paintings and cathedrals. He was very impressed that we requested to see Caravaggio and Michelangelo's Moses, and he eagerly obliged these requests. He brought us to a trattoria for a wonderful outdoor lunch and finished our day with a picturesque overlook of the city of Rome from the 8th hill, "Janiculum Hill". My family fell in love with Rome and Piero - he did a superb job. Day 2 was the Vatican Tour, and our assigned guide was Chiara. Having a tour guide and pre-purchased our tickets for the Vatican and Basilica we scooted right into the Vatican after opening. Chiara was wonderful and patient. She understood right away that we needed to go slowly through the museum as my elderly mother had injured her ankle and was having difficulty walking. She helped us navigate and avoid stairs, using the elevators whenever possible. She had fantastic stories and details about the amazing sculptures, paintings and tapestries. It is clear she loves what she does as it shines from her. "Allora...", We could not have asked for a better guide. In Naples, we were greeted by Alex at the port to take us to Pompeii and Sorrento. We had arranged a morning visit to Pompeii, followed by a drive down the coast to Sorrento. Alex lives along the coast and was very proud to tell us all about the area. His English was perfect, and he was a wonderful driver and guide. He indulged me with practicing my Italian (which is terrible) and kept everyone's interest describing the views and history of the towns along the coast. He gave great recommendations for lunch and for shopping, and was easily accessible by phone. Our day with Alex left us feeling as we had just made a new friend. We were all impressed with his knowledge and thankful for his safe transport up/down the coast. If you read this far, then it should be clear that Rome in Limo provided excellent service for me and my family. Book them. Tell Jany I said, "Hi."

Rome In Limo Made Our Trip Easy!
We travelled to Rome 3 days before a cruise and used Rome In Limo for our airport transfers, cruise port transfers, a day tour in Rome, and a Vatican tour guide. Communication with Jany in the office both before the trip and in country was excellent and always very quick responses. All of our drivers and tour guides were A+ - prompt, knowledgeable, and on time. I noticed their pricing was a bit higher than some others for the transports, but it was well worth it - we never waited for a driver - they were always early - and the vans were comfortable and cool. Our tour guide for our day around Rome was knowledgeable and extremely helpful in accommodating my mom's mobility issues. Our Vatican tour guide, Chiara, was incredible - she was knowledgeable, guided us through the crowds with precision, and was extremely helpful when my mom struggled with the heat. I will absolutely use them again if we return for another cruise or Italian adventure!

Exceptional Customer Service
I cannot say enough positive things about this company and Jany, who assisted us throughout the planning process. Jany was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful every step of the way. Even after we arrived in Rome, we were pleasantly surprised to receive prompt responses to our questions over the weekend. Our Vatican tour guide, Chiara, was outstanding—after just three hours, it felt as though we were touring with a member of the family. Having a tour guide made all the difference. Her extensive knowledge and 17 years of experience provided a depth of insight that greatly enhanced our experience. Peter, our private driver and tour guide, was equally exceptional. His expertise, professionalism, and personable nature made our experience truly unforgettable. Our driver, Vlad, from Rome to Civitavecchia Port was incredibly understanding when he learned that the airline had lost our luggage. He graciously allowed us to make a brief stop at a store near the port so we could pick up a few essential items before boarding our cruise. His flexibility and kindness during a stressful situation were greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use their services again.

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $308 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2-Day Best of Rome and Vatican - Luxury Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
