Best tour operator I've travelled with

Everything worked like a charm: clear and timely response during the order process, all arrangements and travel working as described, and most of all, the response of the travel agency on the last day, when I was injured. The help I got from Kina Lu with hospital visit and airport transfer was beyond expectation. Local guides were also very high standard throughout. Special thanks to Celine in Xi'an who helped me shop the delicious tea I wanted to bring back to Sweden, and Gary in Yichang who in the few hours we met him, managed to both help us to the best meal I had during the trip, and provide interesting insights in contemporary Chinese culture. This trip certainly increased my appetite for returning to China, and making use of TravelChinaGuide's services.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your detailed and honest experience — including the unexpected challenge. We're so glad that despite your injury, Kina Lu's help with the hospital visit and airport transfer went beyond your expectations. That's what we're here for. Celine in Xi'an and Gary in Yichang will also be absolutely delighted to hear your special thanks — from helping with tea shopping to the best meal of your trip and insights into modern China. We're honored that this increased your appetite to return. We can't wait to welcome you back to China.

VIP treatment at every step

We have toured with high-end tour companies such as Luxury Gold. I was extremely impressed with Travel China Guide, whom I consider to be among the very best! I felt like our tour of China was their highest priority at each step. Wendy was in constant contact with us, our was our tour guides, and our transfers, making sure everything went perfectly. Each city had a highly professional, memorable local travel guide, generally with 10 to 15 years of experience. They made sure we had a special time seeing the highlights of each of the cities we visited with detailed history and explanations. Their English was excellent. Each transfer was done door to door, with very clear, detailed instructions, in a very modern, luxurious car or SUV. When we wanted to add to a tour outside of what was offered, it was handled quickly and efficiently. We are so thankful to Travel China Guide and Wendy for making our tour such an enjoyable adventure.

Response from the operator: Dear PaulJ, we much appreciate you taking time to rate us again! How exciting to have your high opinion of our travel service! What we strive for is your satisfaction with easy and enjoyable tours. We have tour service in more than 120 countries globally and we will be happy to have a chance to serve you in the future to explore more travel destinations. Best regards.

JAM PACKED FULL TOUR

You got your money's worth with this one. Didn't realise that we would have 4 different guides during the 2 weeks. Candy, in Beijing went above and beyond to help for the time we were in Beijing. Top guide. The tour, I found was full on. No free time. Up and out by 7 with a packed day of 3, 4 or 5 sites each day and arrived back at hotel at 9 or 10 pm. Even the 50 year olds opted out of a few places, just to have some down time. I truly believe that they should not have so many places to see on one day. More free time. Met some great people and we all got on well. Only bad bit was the Beijing's Great Wall hotel. Terrible. Thanks Candy for all your help.

Response from the operator: Dear Denise D, We are thankful for taking your precious time and writing the review regarding your tour with us on Tripadvisor. Besides, we are more than excited to know that you recognize Candy's work. We will never stop working hard to prefect our service and offer our superb service to the clients. Wish we will have another chance to serve you in the near future. Have a nice day!

Great Time and Tour!

We have not done a tour in over 30 years, so we were very anxious that we made the right decision on which tour to take! On arrival - our first hotel was great - and they just got better and better. Our guide in Beijing - Candy - could not have been more entertaining and was very conscientious that everything went well - even changing up the plan somewhat to work around timing and traffic for the different attractions. "Follow Candy!!" Everything afterwards was just as great. The hotels, the meals, the guides, the coordination of getting our group from one place to the next - It all went so smoothly. Even the situation where we got bumped off one of the mid-tour transfer flights to Shanghai (stuff happens) was handled as well as could be and with great communication all along the way. We loved this tour and all the people from Travel China we dealth with. We highly recommend them to everyone! Steve G.

Response from the operator: Dear smgerrit, It is really a pleasure for us to read the review regarding your Beijing tour with the company of our professional guide Candy. We are glad to know that she has made your experience in China smoothly. Thanks for your recommendation and wish that we can meet you again in the near future. Best regards!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does 14-Day Small-Group Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yangtze, Chongqing, Shanghai cost?

+

Prices start at $3409 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 14-Day Small-Group Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yangtze, Chongqing, Shanghai take?

Is 14-Day Small-Group Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yangtze, Chongqing, Shanghai worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 14-Day Small-Group Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yangtze, Chongqing, Shanghai?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 14-Day Small-Group Tour to Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yangtze, Chongqing, Shanghai suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 336-hour running time when deciding.

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 336-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

+

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
