Very disappointed 😔
Booked this trip, got a confirmed booking ticket, I’ve got up at 6 in the morning. Waiting at the hotel to get picked up. I send a message to ask when they were coming after waiting 45 minutes, finally I got the answer that the trip wasn’t happening because there weren’t enough people... really perfect👌 I will see my money in a few days they said. They don’t even tried to give other options, or trying to fix it for another day. I am very disappointed...
Response from the operator: Dear Valerie, We are very sorry about this. This happened at the very beginning of the pandemic, when only few travelers were still in Peru, for that reason there was not enough people for the tour. We apologize for cancelling the tour last minute and hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip in Perú.

Excellent itinerary!
Doing this day tour was great experience. We had exclellent tour guides, Manuel and Chemo who were very helpfull, fluent in English and available the whole tour. We were able to meet new and interesting people and had a great time on the vineyard and dune buggy tour that were included. We would highly recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic day!
We were picked up from our hotel at the arranged time and taken to a very nice van. We had a 3.5 hour drive to Ica and were guided in Tacama vineyard. We ate a tasty lunch at Tacama's restaurant. After the lunch we drove to Huacachina which is only 30 minutes away. We went on a dune buggy tour, there were only 7 in our buggy due to it was a private tour. We stopped at many dunes to use the boards out for us to sand board down. It was extremely well throughout the whole day. Our tour guide Manuel was great. He really worked so hard all day organising everything on the trip. He spoke Spanish and English and was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this trip.

Best Full day tour ever!
We booked this tour because we wanted a little more space, we didn't want to be on a bus with such a large group and the maximum number of participants in this tour was only 8 people, a perfect number to go comfortable in the van. We were picked up from our hotel in Lima and left to Ica. Our first stop was the Tacama vineyard, which is the oldest vineyard in South America, in addition to be a quite beautiful place and having a restaurant with first class food. The second stop was El Catador, a vineyard with not much technology, a little more traditional but with a great variety of Pisco, wine and cocktails that we could taste. The tasting of all the wines and piscos were included in the price and if that seemed not enough, after the vineyards we had a UTV tour through the Huacachina desert that included sandboarding and at the end we watched the beautiful sunset.

Worth it!
We really enjoyed this tour through the vineyards and the Huacachina desert. This service is a bit more expensive than the others but it is definitely worth it. The route from Lima is approximately 4 hours but the vehicle is very comfortable, has WIFI and also includes water and snacks. Being a small group, there were never problems with time and everything was very relaxed. 100% recommended if you want to spend a beautiful day and want to do everything from Lima.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lima.
How much does 1 Day Tour to Huacachina from Lima (Dunebuggy + Vineyards) cost?
+
Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lima usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 1 Day Tour to Huacachina from Lima (Dunebuggy + Vineyards) take?
+
Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lima is not rushed.
Is 1 Day Tour to Huacachina from Lima (Dunebuggy + Vineyards) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lima, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 1 Day Tour to Huacachina from Lima (Dunebuggy + Vineyards)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

How far in advance should I book 1 Day Tour to Huacachina from Lima (Dunebuggy + Vineyards)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lima can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lima and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 1 Day Tour to Huacachina from Lima (Dunebuggy + Vineyards) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lima within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lima?
+
On Outty we rank every Lima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Peruvian Cooking Class, Local Market Tour & Exotic Fruit Tasting, The Complete Lima Experience: History, Culture & Flavors, #1 Rated Lima Cooking Class: Make Ceviche, Causa & Pisco Sours!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lima?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lima?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
