Fantastic day

We spent a fabulous day with our guide Andy, who was professional, friendly and fun. He even spoke French. The cruise allowed us to discover some fantastic scenery while sitting comfortably on the 1st floor of the boat. Andy shared his knowledge with us, providing explanations, information and anecdotes throughout the day.

Best way to enjoy the breathtaking scenery

Booked tickets for me and my friends or family already 4 times with Andy. First time I went for a basic version but the 3 times after that always went for the 4.5 Star Boat and the VIP Room. If you experienced the Li river cruise one time like that there is no way back to the lower levels. The VIP tickets give you access to reserved seats in the front part on the upper deck of the boat. Andy always got us the best seats in the first row and always chose the boat which offers a lovely small private balcony that is only accessible for the 12 people that booked the VIP seats. Most of the other boats you will see along the cruise do not have this amazing private balcony that makes the whole experience so much more peaceful. You will have the feeling that you have the whole scenery for yourself. And if you want more action you can still join the roof terrace of the boat that is accessible to all passengers on the boat. Food tastes great and service is flawless. If you want to experience the unique karst landscape in the best way possible Andy is your man!

Top Notch Comfortable Beautiful Adventure

The VIP room is at the top and front of the boat with direct access to the forward balcony that the normal seats don’t have. The seats are very comfortable, which means along the 3 to 4 hour ride you can even have a nice nap while you cruise down the river. It was drizzling when we went, but the windows still offer a decent view of the mountains and surroundings. The surroundings themselves are truly amazing, there is nothing like this in the States or in Europe. The mountains are very unique, lush, and beautiful. Even though it was misty and humid for us we still got some excellent shots. The mist actually adds to the beauty as these rocks jut through the clouds. Once you arrive in Yangshou I highly recommend renting an electric Vespa and sidecar. This will offer you the chance to whip around the town and farms and enjoy this spectacular countryside. The town itself has a jumping centre with loads of bars, neon lights, tourist stores etc. Some of the hotels that you can get in the farmlands are high rise and offer awesome views of the mountains and farmers fields at sunrise/set. Yangshou is absolutely brilliant. Even on a drizzly and slightly cold day in early April this place comfortably challenges Lake Cuomo in Italy.
