Leshan Giant Buddha
Experience the Giant Buddha of Leshan, one of Chinese Buddhism's holiest sites, on this amazing full-day tour from Chengdu. Dating from the 8th century, the Giant Buddha of Leshan is the largest carved stone Buddha and the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. It was cut from the cliffs of Lingyun Shan in the hopes of calming the turbulent waters of the three rivers that flow together under its gaze. Stairs are carved into the cliff that connect the area at the Buddha's feet with the land above, allowing you to view this astonishing sight from a range of vantage points. Views are stunning over elbows and knees, taking in the river scene and Leshan's skyline. Upon arrival in Leshan, we have lunch at a restaurant within sight the Giant Buddha. We'll then explore the Giant Buddha and enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding landscape from atop the Buddha's head. Wen then pay a visit to Lingyun Temple and Museum and get a deeper insight into the history of this amazing Buddhist site and learn the story of the carving of the Giant Buddha.

Around 17:30pm, our guide will meet you at Jinli street and transfer to Huang cheng lao ma restaurant to have a hot pot dinner. Sichuan hot pot is famous for being numbingly spicy thanks to the addition of Sichuan Pepper, which creates a tingly, numbing sensation on the tongue. Hot pot is a communal style of dining in which a large pot of broth, often divided into spicy and mild sides, sits in the middle of the table. Diners are served platters full of thinly sliced mutton and beef, vegetables and mushrooms, noodles and doufu, shrimp and fishballs. Diners select their favorite raw ingredients and toss them into the pot, letting them cook in the boiling broth before pulling them out and enjoying.

8:00 p.m. Shufengyayun Tea House, enjoy the show with the vip seat and lasts for 90 minutes. Sichuan opera is traditionally enjoyed in a tea house, where the audience can relax with tasty snacks and hot tea while enjoying the performance. Sufengyayun Tea House is one of Chengdu's best, located in the Chengdu Culture Park near Qingyang Palace, a famous Taoist abbey, Wuhou Ancestral Temple and Dufu Cottage. The building is in the style of Sichuan's rustic Old West Shu Country. You'll be in for a treat, as the ancient Chinese dramatic art of bian lian (face changing) is a highlight of the show. Performers wear brightly colored costumes and move to quick, dramatic music. Their faces are hidden by vividly colored masks... and in a fraction of a second, the masks change, revealing completely new faces--joy can turn to fear and then anger in a matter of seconds as the dramatic music, song and dance transcends cultural barriers.

How much does 1-Day Chengdu Private tour to Leshan Buddha,Hot Pot Dinner & Sichuan Opera Show cost?

Is 1-Day Chengdu Private tour to Leshan Buddha,Hot Pot Dinner & Sichuan Opera Show worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chengdu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 1-Day Chengdu Private tour to Leshan Buddha,Hot Pot Dinner & Sichuan Opera Show?
+

How far in advance should I book 1-Day Chengdu Private tour to Leshan Buddha,Hot Pot Dinner & Sichuan Opera Show?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chengdu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chengdu and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Chengdu?
+
On Outty we rank every Chengdu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chengdu Cooking Class with a Local Market Visit, Private Chengdu Day Tour: Giant Pandas and Jinsha Site Museum, Tuktuk Food Tour Through Chengdu's Local Eats. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chengdu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chengdu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
