The Worse Company
A Very Disappointing Experience with Mundo Aventura We are a group of 5 Palestinian travelers, and our experience with Mundo Aventura in La Fortuna was absolutely unacceptable; it was one of the worst customer service experiences we had during our trip to Costa Rica. We had booked an adventure tour for 5 people for $150. Due to uncertain weather conditions, Mundo Aventura decided to cancel the tour. We accepted the cancellation without any problem. Our only request was simple and completely reasonable: since Mundo Aventura had cancelled the activity, we wanted our money back. What should have been a straightforward refund turned into an exhausting, ridiculous, and completely unnecessary ordeal. We spent approximately 6 hours making calls, sending messages, waiting, and trying to recover the money for a tour that Mundo Aventura itself had cancelled. Instead of taking responsibility and processing the refund promptly, the situation became unnecessarily complicated and caused us to lose a significant part of our travel day. Finally, we went directly to the Mundo Aventura office hoping that someone would resolve the situation once and for all. Rafael, who had helped us with the reservation, had paid Mundo Aventura, and they did not want to return the money to him until a week later, wanting him to give us back the money that they were holding and forcing him to work with his own money like good thieves. In the end, it was Rafael who helped us recover the money that Mundo Aventura did not want to return to us directly the same day, but rather a week later when we would no longer be in the country. Thieves, those people. This was especially frustrating because we were not the ones who cancelled the tour; it was Mundo Aventura. We accepted their decision, and yet we had to spend hours fighting to recover the money for a service they were no longer going to provide. Because of the delays, poor communication, and complete lack of urgency, we also lost valuable travel time and had to change the rest of our plans for that day. For a company operating in such an important tourist destination, this level of customer service is shameful and completely unacceptable. Customers should never have to chase a company for hours to recover their own money after the company itself cancels the service. Based on our experience, we do not recommend Mundo Aventura at all, and we ask everyone who sees this review to look for other, better alternatives. There are many adventure companies in La Fortuna, and travelers should think very carefully before trusting this company with their money or their vacation plans. Mundo Aventura cancelled the tour. We accepted the cancellation. All we wanted was our money back. It should never have turned into a six-hour battle.

We would just like to clarify that when a tour is cancelled by us due to weather conditions, our cancellation and refund process is immediate when the reservation is made directly with us. In this case, the reservation and payment were made through a third party, so the refund process was different. Since the payment was made directly to Rafael, he was the person responsible for returning the money to you, and he was aware that the refund was due. We understand that this may have been confusing, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience it caused. Had the reservation been made directly with us, the refund process would have been much more straightforward.

Love it!
I had a great experience with Arenal Mundo Adventures overall and packed so much into one day! The ziplining was definitely a highlight. There were seven zip lines, and some of the first ones were incredibly long, with amazing views over Pino Blanco Waterfall and La Fortuna Waterfall. I was nervous at first, but after the first one or two lines, you really start to relax and enjoy it. The guides made me feel safe and were very attentive throughout. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do the rappelling because of the rain, which was understandable. I also did the hike. My only feedback is that I wish I had been told beforehand that it was self-guided. I was travelling solo, and had I known I would be hiking completely by myself, I probably would not have chosen to do it. Thankfully, everything went well, but I think that is something solo travellers should be made aware of in advance. We also did horseback riding, which I really enjoyed, followed by a short visit with the Maleku community. I would have loved a little more time there, as that portion of the experience felt quite brief. Overall, the staff and guides were incredibly friendly, attentive and welcoming. One of the guides was especially lovely, he may have even become my little Costa Rican crush 😂. It was a full, adventurous day and definitely one of my most memorable experiences in La Fortuna. I would recommend it, especially for anyone who wants to experience several activities in one day.

Fantastic!
We had the most amazing experience doing this tour. I did wonder if I would find the rappelling a bit scary or difficult, as we had not abseiled before, but it was absolutely fantastic. We are a family of 4 with two teenagers and we all loved the challenge of abseiling between the waterfalls and then the Ziplines had the most amazing views. The horse-riding at the end was a bit of a bonus for those in our family who had never ridden - it was a short ride back. For us though, the best but was the abseiling. We felt safe and had absolute faith in the equipment and our guide, Pedro. The bonus on this tour was that we had the guides just to our family and not part of a large group. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This was such an amazing...
This was such an amazing experience. The only scary part was the rappelling but it was very safe and fun when all said and done. All the zip lines were very fun. The tour guides were all very helpful and kind. The horses were all very well trained and just an addition amazing part of the experience. Would definitely recommend this to everyone.
