Poor value for the cost
There are so many activities to do at Gamboa Rainforest Reserve and when you book this way, you limit yourself to paying a lot of money to just go ziplining. Personally, I feel it is better to just spend the day on your own doing the Arial Tram, Sloth Sanctuary, the many hikes and having lunch overlooking the rainforest.

An incredible experience — absolutely worth it
This was an unbelievable experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Panama. It was raining when we did the zipline, which made the experience a little more challenging, but everyone on the staff was incredibly kind, patient and supportive. They made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the entire experience. The location itself is spectacular. Being up among the treetops gives you a completely different perspective of the rainforest. As an unexpected bonus, I spotted a toucan from one of the treetop platforms—the only toucan I saw during my entire stay in Panama! That made the experience even more memorable. And for anyone wondering about doing this with children: my 11-year-old did it too and made it through the whole experience! The way the staff looked after us made a huge difference. I had seen some reviews questioning the value for money because the actual zipline ticket costs considerably less than the tour. I think that comparison misses part of what you are paying for. Of course, everyone has a different willingness to pay, but with Panamazing you are also paying for the organization, transportation, driver and overall support surrounding the experience, and those things genuinely added value for us. Our driver, Edmundo, was wonderful. He was extremely kind and knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Panama, the Panama Canal and the country in general. He even helped us with some souvenir shopping, which we really appreciated. For us, the complete experience was absolutely worth the price, and I would happily book with Panamazing again. And the zipline itself? Fantastic—even in the rain!

GAMBOA ZIP LINING
The zip lining itself was an excellent experience the guides were fabulous. One thing they should mention is that you have to walk up the hillside to get to the first zip line and IT IS DEFINITELY A HIKE I was tired by the time I got to the top of the hill, Im over 50. But a great experience!!!!

Ridiculously Overpriced
"Tour Operator" did not email us, call our phone, text our phone or message us through the Trip Advisor app to coordinate our activity. They contacted us through some obscure app on our phone which we never use that we did not notice until after we had alreaxy paid an Uber $23 to pick us up from Casvo Viejo to take us to the activity. When we got to the zip line activity, we discovered that the activity cost was only $60 per person. So if an Uber for up to four people from Panama City is only $46 round trip and the activity is only $60 per person... How is this "Tour Operator" justifying ripping people off for $164. This "Tour Operator" refused our partial refund for services they failed to provide so we are writing this review to warn others.

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Zipline Gamboa: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Panama City.
How much does Zipline Gamboa cost?
+
Prices start at $164 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Panama City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Zipline Gamboa take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Panama City is not rushed.
Is Zipline Gamboa worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Panama City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Zipline Gamboa?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Zipline Gamboa suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Zipline Gamboa?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Panama City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Panama City and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Zipline Gamboa start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Panama City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Panama City?
+
On Outty we rank every Panama City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour to a waterfall and Embera village with lunch included, Ocean to Ocean Combo: Canal Boat Safari, Agua Clara & Gatun Locks, Half day of Panama city and canal tour: shared and private. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Panama City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Panama City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Zipline Gamboa?
+
Included: Bottled water; Zipline Equipment; and In-vehicle air conditioning. Not included: Gratuities. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Zipline Gamboa include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 115 listed pickup locations in and around Panama City. Be ready about 75 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Zipline Gamboa offered in?
+
It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Zipline Gamboa?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
Is Zipline Gamboa wheelchair or stroller accessible?
+
The operator notes: Not recommended for pregnant travelers. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.
