A band of native Ndebele warriors in full costume will greet you with traditional songs and harmonies. Aboard the boat you can then chose either upper or lower deck, and take a seat either port or starboard side. Staff will serve complimentary drinks of your choice throughout the cruise (there is a fully stocked licensed bar). The captain will then provide a welcome address and a full safety brief. He will then explain some detail about the Zambezi river and what to expect on the cruise. At any time during the cruise, if animals, plants or birds of interest are seen - a guide will give full details, and often provide some anecdotal and humorous insights. Great cruise
Great relaxing cruise with super flowing drinks and snacks. Saw Crocodile and many Hippo along the way. So good we booked the sunset dinner cruise on the following day!

Shearwater sunset cruise
I really enjoyed the Shearwater Sunset Cruise. The staff were lovely, welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was beautiful. The bottomless drinks and light cocktails were a fantastic touch, and watching the sunset on the Zambezi made the experience truly special. However, I was disappointed with the booking process at the hotel. I was not given a receipt or proof of payment when I booked the cruise. I later noticed that, according to the email and booking terms I received from the website I used to book my hotel, I should have been entitled to a discount. Instead, I appear to have been charged more, which I was told was because I was an international visitor. This needs clarification because the price I was charged did not appear to match the information provided at the time of booking. I would expect transparent pricing, a receipt, and consistent application of any advertised discounts, regardless of where a guest is from. Overall, the sunset cruise itself was beautiful and the staff on board were excellent, but the booking and pricing issue has unfortunately taken away from an otherwise wonderful experience. 🌅

Beautiful cruise but issue with transfer
The cruise itself was beautiful and we were lucky enough to see a hippo out of the water and lots of birds and watch the sunset. The food provided was good and we appreciated how many drinks we were allowed too. The staff were very friendly and we appreciated their passion about the river and its wildlife. My only issue was the transfer. Our booking in the app said collection at 15:30 and we arrived at our lodge at 15:25 after being back later than expected from our previous activity. When we arrived our transfer was just leaving- they had never called me or texted me to alert me of this and they were leaving before the collection time I’d been given. Luckily my lodge were able to ring the company so they could come back and get me- otherwise I’d have missed the cruise. Please ensure that you contact guests with accurate pickup times in the future and ring them if you’re going to leave without them.

Other ships saw a quite few hippos, ours didn't go to the area, also the food not good at all. I guess the ship cut short

Not a great tour .... The...
Not a great tour .... The boat is old and you sit on plastic patio chairs which in that heat not very comfortable. They ran out of beer 10 minutes into a 2 hour tour . The staff blamed passengers for drinking to much in 10 minutes . The food was deep fried and cold . The park fee was $20 USD on the notification but the staff demanded 24 Usd and didn't have change. So all in all not the best. Which was a pitty as the river is lovely and there are plenty of other boats I would suggest using them. I gave a rating of 3 because we did meet some really great passengers we broke the ice complaining about no beer.
