What you'll see and do

  1. Zambezi National Park

Zambezi National Park is a national park in Zimbabwe located upstream from Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River. It was split off from Victoria Falls National Park in 1979 and is 56,000 hectares in size. The park is bisected by a road to Kazungula, dividing it into a riverine side and a Chamabonda Vlei side. Zambezi National Park is worth visiting if you want a convenient, scenic safari experience close to Victoria Falls without the long travel times required for other parks. The park sits just a 5-to-10-minute drive from the center of Victoria Falls town, saving you hours of transit. Unlike day trips to Chobe National Park in Botswana, visiting requires no border crossings, extra visas, or long hours at customs. The stunning riverfront features peaceful boat cruises, canoe trips, and picturesque morning mist over the water. You can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and occasionally lions or leopards.

Avoid organizers

A lousy organizer - absolutely not recommended as they are not reputable. I had booked a tour for 3pm today and waited at reception from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. After 30 minutes I got a call saying that a mistake had been made in the office and asked if I wanted to do the tour tomorrow - NO, I planned it for today and paid for it!! Lousy organizer!!!

Response from the operator: Hi Rudolf Firstly, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the tour not operating as scheduled, then we have issued you a FULL REFUND because we value service first. We understand how disappointing it can be when plans don't go as expected, and we sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused. We would like to clarify that we made every effort to communicate with you regarding the tour details - pick up time, however, despite our multiple attempts to contact you, we did not receive any response from your end. This made it extremely challenging for us to ascertain your preferred tour time or gather necessary information from you. Nevertheless, we value each of our customers and their satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. As a gesture of goodwill, we promptly issued you a full refund for the tour that did not take place. We believe in providing fair and transparent service, even in circumstances beyond our control. We genuinely regret any miscommunication or lack of clarity that may have contributed to your negative experience. Our team strives to ensure that every tour is executed flawlessly, and we are disappointed that we were unable to deliver on that promise in this particular instance. We would like to extend an invitation to you to give us another opportunity to serve you in the future. We are confident that we can provide you with a memorable and enjoyable experience that aligns with the high standards we set for ourselves, as seen on other reviews. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Best regards

A little safari experience

This is a half-day tour for those who don't have enough time to join the tour from Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park. I joined the morning drive and made it in time for my afternoon flight. You won't see many carnivores, but you can see giraffes, elephants, zebras, impalas, etc. If you're lucky, you might see hyenas.

Response from the operator: our kind words mean the world to us! We're delighted that you had an amazing experience on the Zambezi National Park safari game drive with us.

Great morning in Zambezi

Loved this game drive! The guide was very knowledgeable of the park and everything inside including the wildlife, landscape and plant-life. I got to see many animals including elephants, giraffes, warthogs, monkeys, baboons, and many more.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the feedback,

Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Victoria Falls.

How much does Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive cost?

+

Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Victoria Falls usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Victoria Falls is not rushed.

Is Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Victoria Falls, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Victoria Falls can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Victoria Falls and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Zambezi National Park AM or PM Game Drive start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Victoria Falls within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Victoria Falls?

+

On Outty we rank every Victoria Falls experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Tour of the Falls (Zimbabwe side), Victoria Falls Theatre Featuring Simunye: The Spirit of Africa, Zambezi River Class IV-V White-Water Rafting from Victoria Falls. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Victoria Falls?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Victoria Falls?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
