Very nice stops, but…
While the visit to the windmill village was very interesting, there were the expected large number of tour buses and crowds. Our driver next took our group of 8 to a family-run small cheese and wooden shoe maker with virtually no other tourists. Very informative demonstration. The next visit, to a small coastal fishing village, was also very quaint and uncrowded. The final stop was at another small and interesting coastal village. At all stops the guide, Toli, was well-informed. The tour was in a minivan. Those in the middle and rear seats could only partly hear the commentary from the front and the frequent conversations and questions among the guide and the front seat passengers. I’m afraid we missed lots of good information. We recommend getting the front seat for the better experience.

Great small group tour
Apostolis did a wonderful job of touring us and sharing information about all the areas we visited. He was very informative and gave us a good understanding of the history and lifestyle of the different areas.

Great Guide! Fantastic Tour!
Our guide, Apostolis, made the tour truly memorable. He shared detailed and fascinating information about the places we visited, explaining not only what we were seeing, but also the history, the reasons behind it, and the stories that brought everything to life. He was punctual, pleasant, engaging, and kept us well informed while highlighting all the important points along the way. We also preferred being in a small group tour instead of a larger big bus tour and thought it was advantageous for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this tour!

How long does Zaanse Schans Windmills Volendam Private Tour from Amsterdam take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.
Is Zaanse Schans Windmills Volendam Private Tour from Amsterdam worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 522 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Zaanse Schans Windmills Volendam Private Tour from Amsterdam?

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Zaanse Schans Windmills Volendam Private Tour from Amsterdam suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Zaanse Schans Windmills Volendam Private Tour from Amsterdam?
+
Around 183 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?
+
On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Food and Cultural Tour with 10 Tastings, Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Amsterdam 90 minutes Canal Cruise with bar and snacks on board.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amsterdam?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
