Not a bad day out
We were picked up from our hotel in Negril and took approximately 1.5hrs there and nearly 2hrs on way back due to traffic. We went on a boat when we arrived at the black river and only 6 of us were there which was fantastic until we were told we needed to wait for another bus to arrive, we waited 30mins then approximately 50 people turned up and although we got a seat the boat was packed and made moving around to take photos a bit tricky, I think less people would be a lot better personally. We went up and back down the river, saw a few crocodiles and wildlife and was told some facts about the local fishermen and area. It was nice but I wasn’t blown away. I’m glad we experienced this but wouldn’t go again myself but would recommend a quick visit if you haven’t been before. We then moved on to YSL Falls, this was beautiful to look at and once again very pleasant and pleased we experienced it but wouldn’t do again. It was more touristy than I was expecting in terms of an outside pool with lots of people in, gift shop, bar, restaurant etc. The falls water was a lot murkier than you see on the pictures and it gets very packed with lots of children and people (nothing wrong with children but very noisy) , there is a queue for the 2 rope swings and it is difficult to walk in the water without water shoes which I would highly recommend. I had my own but the gift shop does sell them.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that the excursion did not fully meet your expectations. The attractions mention are always featured and ones typical guest and locals rave about the most. Due to our recent Hurricane, the rain forest and waterfalls would somewhat disturbed and we are currently in our rainy season hence the water disturbance. We regret the frustration caused . We take comments seriously and we review our reservation history and could not find any record of a guest booking this specific product from Negril as you mention. If did indeed booked with us, we warmly invited you to contact our management team directly @timelesseleganttours@gmail.com.We would be more than happy to verify your booking details and assist you personally.

YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montego Bay.
How much does YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Montego Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montego Bay is not rushed.
Is YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does YS Falls, Black River and Pelican Bar Tour from Negril start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?
+
On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Montego Bay?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
